  • '88 was a very weird year in terms of weather. A serious drought in the Mid-West (including central Kansas), Yellowstone burning while Gilbert was bearing down on Texas.

  • We did get the remnants of this hurricane. The rains weren't that heavy but the clouds were unusually low for storms of that size.

  • @CapPicard Gilbert's remnants actually brought some much-needed rainfall to the drought-stricken midwest.

  • @ILovestorms We definitely needed the rain. Central Kansas was quite parched to put it mildly.

  • People in South Texas were scared of this storm...

  • Was Gilbert stronger than Andrew?

  • @ILovestorms much stronger

  • @ILovestorms

Andrew's pressure was 922 at landfall. Gilbert's was 888 at it's peak strength.

  • Historic video that you have uploaded .. I appreciate the input. With this video I'm putting together pieces of the puzzle as the information for that event. Greetings from Yucatan :D
