I can understand where that woman is coming from as my grandmother, who was born in GA in 1913, did not have a birth certificate as they were NOT issued.  This is not the only problem with voting. Do check how many were denied the right to vote in FL due to ChoicePoint and Jeb Bush.

On that one I have to disagree. I think it is entirely proper and reasonable to ask people to prove that they indeed have a right to vote in this country. Do you know how easy it would be for anyone to just walk into the voting place and make up a story? The right to vote is one of the most precious rights we have, and it has to mean something and be defended. Nowadays any American should be able to get a government issued ID. Any excuse to the contrary is just irresponsible and lazy...
