Therefore the concept of an all black pageant was necessary not only as an outcry against the racism in the Miss America pageant, but a political statement concerning Afro-American beauty and ability! I agree with you that it is probably time to merge the pageant into the America system. Also remember that the Miss Black America pageant has nothing close to the prestige of Miss America.
