If i ever win the lottery or build a business that makes me wealthy, im going to skip down the street happy as can be, shaking peoples hands and singing this out loud!!!
you guys are idiots. just because tim burton made one or two good movies, people think they are huge fans and everything he makes will be amazing. his version ruined the movie and definately the book. i hate you fake people god dammit
Roald Dahl actually saw this version, and absolutely hated it. His surviving family saw Burtons, and said that if he had seen it, he would have loved it.
Tim Burton captured the creepiness of Wonka and the factory/empire/mogul mindset, and I loved that he saw Wonka as a cross between Anna Wintour and and a completely bleached and tweeked Michael Jackson, but still... this is the one. Cheap effects, amateur child actors, and all... this is the one.
Can anybody give me the lyrics to the Buffalo Wild Wings parody that's been playing on the radio, as of late?; It's called 'We're Going Table-Gating' instead of 'I've Got A Golden Ticket' & I've been looking for a recording/the lyrics for so long, it's starting to drive me nuts.
@tthomaselli2 Ready? Here we go! ... So there is this really cool place Where you can pour cold bear down your face And scarf some wings And watch football On flat screens eight miles tall! 'Cause we're going table gating A place where we can watch football all day long We're going table gating All! Day! Long" Whew! That was fun!
I really love this song and this movie. It captured a sense of magic, wonder and happyness that no other movie ever could. It's always cheerful to listen to no matter how many I do. The soundtracks to movies like this are why I play an instrument. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go play this at a concert.
It seems most people like the Tim Burton version because of Johnny Depp. Fangirls everywhere. >_> Tim Burton is great, but his movie wasn't nearly as inspiring and heartlifting as this one. Sometimes, when I have a bad day, I play my DVD of it and skip to 'Cheer Up Charlie', but if it's a good day, I play this song. You can't do that with Tim's version. ^_^ Great song, great quality, great movie. :D
this song never gets old. it like the part when it says " 'Cause I'd have said It couldn't be done....But it can be done. I never dreamed that I would climb over the moon in ecstasy, but nevertheless, it's there that I'm shortly about to be." it sounds as if someone has realized their dreams, and it's coming true. like when they thought it wasn't going to happen, and then after a while it is
Charlie might not be able to sing but it's charming and cute. It doesn't matter if he can. It's like any little kid trying to sing. It makes it a bit real.
A reason I love older movies and this movie is that the people just look so much more real and down to earth than they do now.
did anyone else notice that during the begining of the movie at the candy place like after they had their drinks, the "candykeep" i guess you could call him hit some little girl in the chin with a door? lol
I KNOW!!! D: I don't like most of the new songs! Only one I like is "Willy Wonka The Amazing Chocolateer". I mean, I LOVE Tim Burton and Helena Carter and Johnny Depp the most in the movie business (other than Disney, of course!), but the newer Willy Wonka movie could have better songs, nay... If they would have just re-did THESE ORIGINALS, it would RULE.
I special ordered this soundtrack from my local bookstore about 2 weeks ago, and it came in today. I brought it home today. I'm really happy about it!
I wanted to post this song because I know how inspiring it is and how much it encourages people through their day. I see how much of a blessing it's been.
So, please, if you have something nasty to say, say it elsewhere. I don't appreciate it and neither does anyone else.
Thank you.
On a side note, I'll be looking for some soundtracks this weekend...Any suggestions? I'll take them into consideration.
@ATasteofMusic The beat of this song is so nostalgic and bring smile to my face always! (22,listen to Classic Rock, Death Metal, Hip Hop, Rap Metal, Country, Jazz, everthing.... .save for rap XD)
Thank you so much for posting this very high quality audio version of this wonderful somg..it even sounds good on my tinny notebook speakers...
I used to listen to this song a lot as a "yoof" in London, and I was always inspired by the message.......used to sing it when things weren't going quite right......
It must have helped a little......I grew up to be a research chemist ;) (and I;m STILL listening to it!)
Goodness... this song is wonderful, but man - I literally got a lump in my throat when I read districtline's comment about growing up to become something significant. Great song ... great comment.
