Tim Burton captured the creepiness of Wonka and the factory/empire/mogul mindset, and I loved that he saw Wonka as a cross between Anna Wintour and and a completely bleached and tweeked Michael Jackson, but still... this is the one. Cheap effects, amateur child actors, and all... this is the one.

I really love this song and this movie. It captured a sense of magic, wonder and happyness that no other movie ever could. It's always cheerful to listen to no matter how many I do. The soundtracks to movies like this are why I play an instrument. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go play this at a concert.

It seems most people like the Tim Burton version because of Johnny Depp. Fangirls everywhere. >_> Tim Burton is great, but his movie wasn't nearly as inspiring and heartlifting as this one. Sometimes, when I have a bad day, I play my DVD of it and skip to 'Cheer Up Charlie', but if it's a good day, I play this song. You can't do that with Tim's version. ^_^ Great song, great quality, great movie. :D
