Started listening to this album again, I finally got my hands on 3rd Stage and it drew me in for months, that album is amazing, but this has some incredible stuff on it, it's not 'original Boston' but neither is 3rd Stage, y'know.
Point is, whatever Boston do, they blow. me. away.
I remember too when I heard this album when it came out, was in high school, the whole sound was just so different and lifting and heavy, fricking awesome! and pretty sounding thanx to I NEED YOUR LOVE and LIVIN FOR YOU
@obadiah650 I wouldn't call their first album hard rock at all, in my mind they don't have a hard rock sound.
After all, they did pioneer the Arena rock genre.
I'd say this song does have a hard rock quality but their previous albums have not been hard rock at all, they're far softer earlier in their career, More than a feeling, Peace of Mind, Hitch a Ride, they're all definitely not hard rock, I'd consider Smokin' but that's awfully bluesy.
@obadiah650 Basically bands that really caught that "stadium sound" were considered arena rock, bands you just had to see live, Journey were another of those bands.
@steverooni99 Okay I see them. I tend to expect when something says "with lyrics" that the lyrics are actually in the video. Rather unusual to see them in the description
RTZ came out in the early 1990's this came out later in the later 90's. I LOVE IT!!! I am a HUGE Chicago fan but LOVE the Boston guitar rifts!! Not to mention all the melody!! I remember when Brad Delp died (03-09-07) it was raining and I cried... HUGE, HUGE loss!! My parents listened to Boston and I grew up doing the same! I love u guys and all the fans that support them! Rock on in heaven Brad!! xoxoxoxo
I remember perfectly the first time I heard this song - the first 'SURRENDER TO ME' literally lifted me off the floor. To this day i get chills when that pre-chorus comes in and then blasts off into the epic chorus. The solo is a work of genius.

@obadiah650 You've obviously only listened to this album.
Boston aren't 'Heavy' per-say, they just make songs that are 'dirtier' than others.
HeavensOfMetal 7 months ago
@HeavensOfMetal their first two albums were hard rock while their later albums were more soft

The harmonies sound like Def Leppard, great bands think alike.
