hi, i don't own a macaw, (I'm african grey owner)... just dont understand what you mean by hybrid? like a blue/red macaw hybrid? lol sorry for a NOOB question, just curious

That's ok! A hybrid macaw is a mix between two or more different subspecies of macaws. For example, a greenwing and a Blue and Gold macaw cross is a Harlequin. If a military macaw and a Blue and Gold macaw have a chick, it's a milligold. The colors on hybrids are amazing!

oh ok, thanks! ha! i was close enough with my red/blue mix guess (red, which i referred to the "greenwing" cause of their red heads); didn't know the official name until now, so I called them red macaws lol

It looks like Toby's dad was a greenwing and his mom was a B&G. Am I right? And Freska is just the opposite. Beautiful birds!

Thank you for the compliment! Actually Toby's mom is a huge GW and his daddy is the B&G. I know it is backwards because of his looks. As far as Freska goes, her daddy is a 4th generation yellow Camelot and her mommy is a 2nd generation Harlequin....

Freska's breeders have called her a Fiesta macaw because the feathers on the top of her head resemble confetti. I have to say she is the spark in any party!! LOL
