  • that really sucks...sounds like a basement or garage band after a week together.

  • Fucking love this song as a guy who is really into HC punk/Punk Saint Vitus shouldnt appeal to me but they do ...............FUCKING AWESOME!! I'm right on a St V session IPOD is getting battered by them at the moment!

  • Sounds like punk.

  • 3:57, camera man has a seizure.

4:20 it's contagious, guitarist flails around spastically

    4:42 rabies sets in

    5:08 back to seizing

    what. the fuck.

  • right, chebbs, because we all know, you have to be IN a band to appreciate music, right? come on, man.

  • i won't debate the legacy of any of these bands. this entire concert is the essence of no budget brilliant doom.

  • Guys, guys, you've got to appreciate the top notch camera work. I mean, just look at how the cameraman syncs his zoom with Chandlers playing at 3:57. That's not an easy thing to do! Give the guy some credits.

  • R.I.P Armando born too late died too young

  • somebody should kick the cameraman in the NUT and put it on youtube

  • Best song ever written by Vitus!!! Live at Bastard Club Osnabrück / Germany 15.12.2010!!!

  • I love Chandler's style, you can almost smell the weed coming out of the amp

  • Saint Vitus is a tribute band to Black Sabbath. Black Sabbath was the first everyone knows that. Any of you heard Saint Vitus's cover song "Paranoid"? it's fucking awesome!!

  • fucking blAsphemer, SABBATH is the seed...

  • Someone give Wino a guitar :)

  • The best I can figure is they tuned Chandler's guitar when they went in the studio. lol The solo is a tour de force. And can I get a thumbs up for firing the camera guy?

  • 4:20 very comic performance funny as hell and sick. no musical value but ok haha

  • Fabulous solo! Guitar god.

  • @miketobewatch no one BUT the punk scene accepted Vitus, the metal scene would have nothing to do with them

  • The lead singer better quit moving around on stage so much.

  • 3:18; WHAT THE FUCK!?

  • awesome solo!!! he's just fucking shit up!

  • it's very Greg Ginn...

  • Sabbath and Pentagram.

  • i'll agree that saint vitus are the fathers of "doom metal" but without certain iommi riffs there wouldn't be a vitus so...

  • sure there would. it'd just sound a bit different.

  • for the first, saint vitus was mainly influenced by black flag. thats where the punk/garage sound comes from. they never tried to bee like sabbath or pentagram. they just took the sound from them and put it in their music and viola.... DOOM!!

and second I agree with you that it's not about how good you play your instrument. you can keep it simple but creative and still rock like mc5 did back in the day. that's what punk & garagerock is all about. people seem to forget that sometimes

  • Saint Vitus more talented than Sabbath..lol. What smack are you shooting up man? Iommi & Co. invented this music & St. Vitus, Black Flag; etc. all these bands will always herald Black Sabbath as being better than their own bands.

  • @p4horror Only a person like you, who is not in a true band would say that, no one who knows themself can think anybody else superior. Gods do not bow

  • Dude seriously I love Vitus dont get me wrong but Chandler couldn't solo to save his life, its not completely horrible but its nothing compared to Iommi.

  • Don´t know about that. I mean, that´s obviously a personal impresion. Iommi is God, but his solos are predictible technique, are what a solo is supoused to be. Chandler could be understooded as deconstructive metal, which in pure art theory, is a couple of steps beyond any other soloist. The fact that his mynd accepts that uncontrolable noise is a good solo, ilustrates his dimension as a guitar player. Everybody is under the shadow of Sabbath, anyways. Him included.

  • I suppose it is unique to him, you are right.

  • @DoomMetalSludge That's what makes it so good. Chaos. :)

  • Insane guitar solo!

  • check out Agony Column from Austin late 80's early 90's...real deal...

  • these guys partied all night at our house after a show with the Mentors in Austin Tx. in 86 or 87. Good Times!

  • Killer Video! These guys kick ass, always have...been jamming these guys for years.

    Check us out sometime...

    Desolate Anguish

    now on the damn youtube

    Pure Southern Sludge Doom Metal

  • ps that last part was to everyone who thinks hes hiding behind his wah pedal. its part of his tone and thats how it is!

  • anyone know what amp daves using? also, chandlers solo on thirsty and miserable beats anything you can do unless your like joe satriani or steve vie

  • It's not a chops exercize ajsz08. I hear your point, but seems like Chandler's going for a full on, over the top, sonic assault. Not phrasing and technique. Not to mention that it's obvious that he's not doing a "look at me aren't you impressed with my licks" type thing. He's just having fun and making a bunch of over the top noise. And it rules and it's hilarious to boot.

  • One of the greatest American Metal bands ever. This band was overlooked and it is criminal given their talent and influence.

  • chong!!!

  • haha

  • Damn that was funny, laughed my ass off on that guitar solo part, that dude tripped the fuuuck out man

  • @LookoutHell Dave Chandler's the man when it comes to acid flashback freak-out solos!!

  • fuck yeah! i cant get enough of any live vitus stuff, albums(esp with wino) kill, but live, takes it to the next level.long live vitus! stop it ,before i go insane!!!!!!!!!

  • Priceless.

  • Holy shit Chandler....

  • God Damn...Dave Chandler is a fucking maniac!

  • Lordy! can't they turn the lights down low or what......

  • oldies but goodies.yeah!

  • I've been looking for St. Vitus stuff on youtube for awhile and never came across these hidden gems!only found it by searching through wabusy3's playlist..very cool.

  • in 1986 i saw st. vitus at 'the farm' in san francisco. i approached them and told them how much i loved the song 'white stallions' and they asked me if i knew what it was about...i them told them i listened to that song as i slammed crank into my arm for the first time. all of 'em just started rollin with laughter, they thought that was pretty funny and i'd say kinda flattered that someone would use them as a soundtrack on the detour of drug abuse. HAIL SATAN!!

  • are you a satanist?

  • I didn't know saint vitus could play fast, kickass

  • vitus + wino is the best. thanks

  • Awesome..
