Such an amazing sound!!! It's a shame that no one except Pete, and a handful of lucky Edwards Light Beam owners with tons of cash, will be able to recreate this sound, since the Light Beam is really hard to find! =(
@flmason: Correction: the amp was a 1959 Fender Bandmaster 3x10 combo. The guitar was a 1959 orange 6120 Chet Atkins. The cable he used was a Whirlwind, and he used a Edwards Light Beam volume pedal. Joe Walsh gave him the rig as a gift because Pete gave Joe an ARP synthesizer the previous year. Pete mentioned something to Joe that he wanted Neil Young's sound. Joe found out Neil's rig and bought something like it for Pete.
Still need confirmation? Well, I can't help you then.
What do you mean? The whole track just without the guitar? If you want that, then yeah, I can do that. Just reply to this and confirm because I'm not totally sure what you mean.
yes please - so us guitar players can play pete's part along with the Who - how do you isolate the tracks?
In fact could you please post all the who stuff minus guitar so we can all jam!..and any other great music you can access - Zeppelin, Sabbath, Purple, Rainbow and Queen would be nice.....
Listen to the sloppy hand of Pete Townshend, I love it.

Pick up my guitar and play, just like yesterday, then I'll get on my knees and pray.
