If Piper hadn't of left for a couple yrs after Wrestlemainia 3 (right at the peak of his popularity as a fan favourite) his ranking as one the great wrestlers before the "attitude era" would rivail Hogan's easily....based on both combo of both ring skill and mic presence i rate Piper and Savage as the best pre Austin era

There will never been another Rowdy Roddy Piper! That guy was the best! Wrestling is acting but emotion and character do play a part...This guy would go ape in and out of the ring and would really do some damage back then! Nowadays it is all fake and all those prima-donna steriod monkeys with fake attitude would never be able to handle Piper or Hogan in their heyday.

I agree Savage has pulled some crazy shit pulling Ric's trunks to win the WWF belt,crushing Steamboats wind pipe,making Dusty's manager kiss his feet,hitting George Steel over the head with a steel bell just to win a match,bullying poor Spanish announcer Miguel Perez every time.Walking out on Hogan during that tag match with the twin towers.Kicking Dusty Rhodes ass when he tried to save Sapphire from his manager Sherri Martel Royal Rumble 90'His making Warrior lose to Sgt.Slaughter RR91'

Piper is so high strung.I think he really is manic in real life.That's what makes him so fun to watch is his reactions to when things don't go his way or it wasn't what he had in mind.They should have renamed it Roddy Piper's Rock n Wrestling because it was Roddy not Hogan that made it such a classic.Roddy was the perfect foil for Hogan and for the forces of good

Yes Randy's list of crimes as rulebreaker makes him noteworthy but lets just say Randy is Moolah and Roddy is Mae Young.Roddy like Mae goes way off the deep end.Compare Roddy's crimes look up Early Piper's pits all his pits on youtube match where he mocks Rock's dad.Match where he broke Snuka's neck,breaks coconut on Snuka's neck.he powerslams Dave Wolf kicks Cyndi Lauper breaks plaque on Lou Albano's head.Slaps Lord Alfred hayes He cut's Little Haiti's hair for saying Mr t will win.

Dude Piper was the whole reason to watch, you are right about that. He is just so frantic. Its like watching a monkey thats drank 20 gallons of expresso and done a dozen energy shots.

Hoo Hoo Hoo I thought Roddy piper was the best wrestler in the live action segments.I loved it when the alarm clock woke him up earlier than he wanted and he smashed it to pieces and he went back to sleep with a smile on his face.Piper's reaction is worth the price of admission.

cartoon network was not around when hulk hogans rock n wrestling was around. this is 1985 there was only 4 channels to watch and this was a saturday morning cartoon

Sorry for you to only have 4 channels, but I had cable in 1984. I believe there were around 40 channels for cable back in the day.
