  • Nice promo but I find the music to be unbearable! Ironic that a product whose demographic is more likely to listen to jazz, classical, NPR, CBC and BBC on such a radio is probably not going to respond well to the choice of tinny, synthesized disco music. Yes, I will be buying a few of these radios, but would prefer a more mature intro to the radio, and hold the music...unless of course you are playing music on the actual radio, so that the viewers on YouTube can hear the audio quality.

  • I just bought one as they are quality radios, very simple and they sound fantastic, brilliant for using as a pc sound out. Some people are not happy with the fact they are mono but you can get a matching extra speaker to give you both channels

  • I have imagined the ideal radio, and that radio is the Sangean WR-11.

  • I want one

  • @fmbroadcast I have to warn you as a present owner of Tivoli audio: this thing has pathetic in-speaker built amp. There is some degree of roll-off within bass and treble. Solution: attachment Tivoli Audio to external amplifier. I have to inform you that I was amazed what kind of difference in sound quality such setup can produce. The sound became incredibly accurate with tight bass in clear highs. Don't believe the reviewers claimning that Tivoli is crap, because it is not!

  • I prefer my shortwave receiver

  • Did Henry Kloss see this and if so what did he think ?

How about a second speaker for stereo ?

I have the KLH 8 and the KLH 21 which are precursers to this.

  • @Anderskh you can certainly add an extra speaker to this for stereo sound if you want

  • Inmates have these in the prison I work at, they sound great. They create makeshift bass boxes out of philly cigar boxes it's hilarious.

  • the sound is excellent, but the tuner can't tune for shit.

  • Its power supply is inadequate. In quiet settings, a 60 Hz hum is audible through its speaker from across the room due to poor power supply filtering. Its lights dim slightly during bass responses signifying power supply strain. Crutchfield support suggests using a filtered external power supply. I got a Radio Shack CAT. NO. 273-1776, which solved the hum and power supply strain issues. Tivoli needs to resolve this problem. Otherwise, nice radio!

  • @skinnyblinddude Are you on 60Hz there, we have 50Hz hum here in Australia

  • I love my Tivoli radio :) I walked passed one playing in the store and had to have it... best sound I ever heard from a radio.

  • Does anybody know when the analogic signal will be not brodcast?

Analogic TV will end by 2010 and analogic radio when will it end?

All these radios will become useless?

Thank you for your answer in advance.

    Best regards,

    Mario.

  • The upcoming TV change, will have no effect on the current AM/FM broadcast. If you're concerned about buying this unit and it becoming obsolete in a few years, don't worry. The future of AM may be digital, but in my opinion, that change is year away.

  • Thank you. I live in Brazil and Digital TV started on January 2008, radio has not started yet.

I have read a lot about these Tivoli radio and I thing they extremely beautiful. Living in USA I would certainly own one. Best regards, Mario.

  • Does it go Boom boom boom?

  • I have none! But they do sound excellent. I need to get one.

  • oh yeah? i have four.

  • I love the Tivoli radios, and actually have three of them.
