You can use the same method but select the hard drive from the left side and then hit new image and change it to dvd/cd master and then hit burn, but if you are backing up your whole computer I would recommend getting an external hard drive, there are good prices from OWC and the MicroCenter and then use CarbonCopyCloner (its free google it) to do the back up.
I have I western Digital passport HD. How should i do it?
I assume that i will model the way that i do it after ur instruction. I have to send in my mac book to apple care because the screen is shot. which makes it even more difficult to do. And i would like to keep my data... i.e. itunes files, Documents and pictures. Essentially i want to be able to restore my macbook with this external device... and all my key chain passwords. (don't remember them). Any suggestions?
dude awesome video........ok pleassee answer this!!! :) ok....i want to update my mac to 10.5.6, but you cant do so without losing all your files right? (unless you back them up) if it is not explained in this video, can u please explain to me how i can back up my mac, update it and then get my files back when i get the new software? i know its wierd but please help dude!! :P
when you update to 10.5.6 none of your files will be lost. It just replaces the files that change from 10.5.5 to 10.5.6 thought i would be careful about the ilife 09 update. it crashed my MBP and need to take it to the apple store. thats why i haven't been posting videos
it comes with screenium. when you record videos and when you click it makes that effect so you know where you clicked. it might be possible to create an effect, i'll look into it
no it doesn't, they just recommend backing up just in case. So if you want to you can just back up the files that you really need, but i wouldn't worry, just start the upgrade
Yo dude. I have to reinstall my operating system. But before I can do it, I have to back it up. I can't log in and I have to do it from the Operating System Install Disc. I'm not totally sure how to do this. Help would be nice.
First boot up your computer while holding down the "s" key. You should be able to then backup your data, if not follow the following steps: Insert your first install disc into your cd drive. from here select Disk Utility. Create a disc image and copy your hardrive on to it. do this by attaching an external hard drive. This should work, if it doesn't you have 1 more option. If you have another computer, remove your hard drive from both computers. Switch the drives and re install your op
excellent work. i new how to create the disk image off of disk utility. you're good with mac's like me. that's what i did by the way. it took me about 14 hours of continuous work. didn't get any sleep either. haha. great job though with your videos. very informing.
The background music could be lower, as it interferes with your explanation. Speak closer to the mic, and don't make your voice throaty. That also interferes with understanding your instructions. Thanks!
hey man i need some help!! i updated my 10.5.4 macbook to 10.5.6 and its downloaded the 675MB required.... then i restarted it and then it has another installation process and it has this bar, in which only a centimetre has filled up in 10 mins ... is this normal?
