  • Hey girl, sto siciliano troppo e posso solo dire che sono bella ;)

  • Italians are the coolest and the best !

  • i cant hear this lady at all, but i'm american and my family comes from northern italy. our pizza is not like southern italy pizza or sicilian pizza. it is really popular and everyone around italy eats pizza napoletana because it spread. our pizza doesnt even have cheese it is just pizza dough, tomatoes, garlic, onion, and basil. it's not a foccacia because it has more stuff on it we just call it pizza.

  • can you refilm this with lower music and your voice seems muffled, and go slower, very interesting. ya just cant hear it. Please.... : )

  • Sicilian is not a dialect, its its own language. Don't listen to that filthy Padanian anymore. just remember that we (Napulitans and Sicilians) were one of the wealthiest nations in Europe before being "liberated" by Cavour, Garibaldi and those other scumbags. Look how well the Padanians are doing now. Sud Libero!

  • @rgrossicone sud libero! That's right cumpari, Southern italy Apulia, Campania, Calabria, Basilicata, Sicilia. We used to be a great nation before the invasion from the north. Nearly 1 millions southern italians were slaughtered, butchered, thrown in concentration camps by northerners. respect from usa.

  • @Hairmetaller86 ma cretino non ti sei reso ancora conto che sono fascista anch'io e che sono del sud anch'io... cazzo stai facendo una polemica perche' ho precisato che il siciliano e' un dialetto? io non metto in imbarazzo il dux, sei tu ora che lo fai litigando con un camerata, solo perche' il tuo orgoglio siciliano di fa' fare la differenza da l'italiano.. io sono italiano e basta. tu cosa sei? italiano o siciliano ( come di solito ci tenete a precisare

  • marry me...Im 100% sicilian born in the town of Licata

  • not sure your using enough arrogance in the proper Italian but i like your video !

  • Amusing video... I Like it!!!

Anyway, the Sicilian is a REAL language. it is not a dialect.

the Sicilian is considered a dialect because the Sicilian is not recognized by the Italian state....

    Regards from the Sicilia

  • @nanni115 hahahah vai a scuola ignorante u siclianu e' ndialettu, nun capiscisti na minkia!!!

  • I loved the video - plus the chick is real cute!! - chi maravigghjusa! ;)

  • Very nice!!

  • LU SICILIANU ≠ L'ITALIANO

I speak Italian but can't understand a word of Sicilian, so, Sicilian is about as separate from Italian as Portuguese is from Spanish!

  • @babypharoah -- I hear the same thing myself too.....being of Sicilian blood (siculumiricanu) -- of ppl that speak Italian but dont understand a word of Siculu....(esp when spoken) -- different grammar, pronounciation, wordings...plus Sicilian has its own dialects as well (ex: Calabrian & South Cilentano)

  • - Growing up, learning both of em....I've always regarded Sicilian as an exotic tongue of mystery - until i learned it more, it's not foreign to me - so yes, in a sense...Sicilian is distinct enough to be its own tongue....much like Spanish/Portuguese....even Sardinian is its own distinct tongue....not merely just another dialect -

  • @babypharoah not at all.. is just an italian dialect some word are modifications or evolutions of other languages like arab .. or greek.. every single village in Italy have theyr own dialect that sometimes could be different at just some mile apart!!! like in usa, every city or village has theyr own expressions...

  • I hear and use the very last one (sicilian of course) on a daily basis lmao

  • Sicily is one of the twenty Italian regions, so actually there are plenty of plenty of accents and dialects in Italy, like in any other country in the world... :)

  • :O.

  • Actually, Sicilian is a separate language from Italian, but it's closely related to Italian... kind of like Galician and Portuguese are closely related to Spanish. As the saying goes, "A language is a dialect with an army"... Sicily has no national army unless you count... well, you know what I mean! :)

  • Non c'e male!!!!

  • From someone who learned Sicilian from parents and then Italian from school and working in Italy I think this is cute but of course not realistic. Italy has many dialects that are used perhaps at home but not in most public settings. Verona where I worked has a wicked dialect but again every Italian knows both and what the differences are.

  • minchiiaaaaa bedda sei mi piace!!!

  • the name of this video is wrong. There's NO "difference" between "Italian" & "Sicilian". Sicily IS "Italian", and part of Italy. The girl doesn't understand that different dialects of "Italian" are STILL ITALIAN. And also that it's NOT JUST SICILY that has its own "dialect". So does Calabria, Naples, Rome, etc. But all those dialects are ITALIAN dialects. Not separate languages. Also, she's only focusing on different words, while ignoring all the words that are exactly the same. Which are most.

  • @HistoryArchiver sicily is a region/province of italy but it functions independently from italy. and sicilian is an extreme dialect of Italian, but its verrrrry hard to understand people from the "mainland" of italy sometimes. if you read the description bar you can see that she understands what a dialect is. and of course shes only focusing on the differences, thats what this video is about...

  • @HelloLoverXX it is NOT as "independent" as many people like to think or like to exaggerate. Sicily is PART OF ITALY. That's just a fact...not an opinion. Under one President, and one set of over-arching laws. Yes, there's a MEASURE of autonomy in certain way, but that's with all regions of Italy in one way or another. The point is that it's MISLEADING to word things where it seems that Sicily (or the language) is "not Italian". Sicilians speak Italian. Just a certain dialect. But still Italian.

  • @HelloLoverXX (2nd) also, you miss my point about her only focusing on the differences. She's wrongly giving the impression that ALL words are so different than "Italian". Which simply is not true. What's the point in listing differences in words, WHEN THE VAST MAJORITY OF WORDS ARE EXACTLY THE SAME??? To only give a false impression (leaving facts out so ignorant people stay more ignorant) that "Sicilian" is uh "different" than "Italian", when Sicilian IS Italian, just a dialect of it.

  • @HistoryArchiver ok. but the video is about the differences between the two dialects. if you wanna make a video about the similarities go for it.

  • @HelloLoverXX I have NO problem with a video pointing out differences among dialects. But that's NOT what the premise of this video is, just by the very name of it, and also the things she was saying in the video. She is making it like the "Sicilian" language is NOT "ITALIAN", which is simply not correct. Sicilian IS Italian. Sicilian IIISSSS "Italian". It's just a DIALECT of "Italian." NOT a separate language. (Just like in Naples they have a slightly different dialect too. But still Italian)

  • @HistoryArchiver you need to relax, its not that big of a deal if people are confused about sicily/italy. the world will keep turning and its not going to harm anyone. if they ever get curious they can do a 5 second google search and have it alllll explained.

  • @HelloLoverXX you're the one who responded to my first comment, not the other way around. And then I was responding to your incorrect analysis. She was NOT just pointing out some differences, but made it like they are two separate languages, and ignored ALL THE SAME EXACT WORDS...which are MOST. The fact is Sicilian IS Italian. In both country and language. It may not be STANDARD Italian language, true, as far as some words. But that does NOT mean it's a "separate" language. It's still Italian.

  • @HistoryArchiver seriously. chill.

  • @HistoryArchiver Sicilian and Italian are about as different languages as European Spanish and European Portuguese... they are slightly intelligible between each other, but they have vast differences.

  • Comment removed

  • @HistoryArchiver So you know much about the languages of Italy? I'm from Spain myself (Extremadura) and there, we can understand with some degree of knowledge (Extremaduran is Part of the Asturian group which is close to Galician-Portuguese). Even with Spanish, aside from phonological differences they are intelligible to some degree. I happen to know some Italian too (3 years of classes) and the understanding of Sicilian is as close as Spanish and Portuguese.

  • @HistoryArchiver Particularly Extremaduran, that is. And I've read texts in Sardinian, Venetian and Sicilian and they are different from Italian. I can admit that Italian and Sicilian are fairly close but still different languages. And you mention all the "dialects of Italy"? Venetian, is actually phonetically more similar to Romansch than to Italian. Sardinian is the most primitive of all Romance languages. So yeah, you either don't know Italian AT ALL or you just assume.

  • OMFG I LOVE YOU! this is the most accurate video on youtube!!!

  • @mariaelisabella no, it's not accurate. There's NO "difference" between "Italian" & "Sicilian". Sicily IS "Italian", and part of Italy. The girl doesn't understand that different dialects of "Italian" are STILL ITALIAN. And also that it's NOT JUST SICILY that has its own "dialect". So does Naples, Rome, etc. But all those dialects are ITALIAN dialects. Not separate languages. Also, she's only focusing on different words, while ignoring all the words that are exactly the same. Which are most.

  • This would be an informative video if you would only speak LOUDER!! Please. Also you are a good actress, but we just can't hear you!
