"The 5 Cs"? Four of them stand for cool, one stands for calpol. He has done well to emphasise the point about keeping the baby cool and reminding people of calpol, however, many of his techniques will be forgotten. The cool sponge is an easy way of reducing temperature and should be emphasised.

Some parents tend to go overboard; parents have been known to dunk their children in an ice bath. Gradual reduction in temperature should be highlighted. This point was absent from the video.

i was instructed to but my son in an ice bath by my doctor whilst the ambulance was on its way, he had a temp that peaked at 40C, very scarey moment.

That is a slightly different situation. Your child had an exessively high temperaturethe. The temperature would then have been monitored more closely when the medical team arrived.

I was refering to parents who use the ice bath in the first instance. Your use of the ice bath was different and more reasoned.

I think 4 of them starting with cool is fine, it is actually easier to remember because you can try and think of 4 ways to make the baby cool rather than having a random letter you can't remember the meaning of.
