I'm sure someone else has already posted this, but another way to tell fake 3's is the Jordan logo on the sole of the sneaker. If the Jordan name on the bottom is thick and alot of red paint, then they are fake. The Jordan on the bottom should be thin red paint. Peace2

my 3s passed every indication it would be real, stitching, dots and leathers, but the jordan on the tongue is not stitched and the size label is not behind the tongue it on the "inside foot" side nor is it red behind the tongue or grey underneath... same box as yours and side sticker color scheme white metallic silver blak argmet.. the realisom of the sneaker got me stuck in the mid, maybe u can drop the hammer on the whole situation
to me its so obvious. you dont have to point out lil details like the stitchin that you have to get up close to see and all that... just look at the back parts of the shoe.. on the fake 3's its obviously much smaller overall than the reals

@Aerseus I've done nothing special... I just wear them whenever I want. Just got a good pair I suppose. Mocha's are getting up there in age... not sure paint chipping should be your biggest concern. Either way I don't do anything out of the norm to keep them un-cracked. -Peace

the way to tell a real from a fake is lok at the size tag in the shoe and look at bottom were there all those codes and shit before it has the codes look right in front and u will ether see u.p.c or p.a.t now if it says u.p.c there real now if it says p.a.t then ther fake this has worked on all of my shoes

i dont know if this is trueee or not but my friend told me that on some of the shoes inside tag that show the size on the bottom it would either say UPC or PAT upc = authentic and real pat = fake.idk if its truee
But between 2005 & 2006, the had some transition going on within the tag, so they would have UP4 or something, not exactally sure, & i dont know what Jordans came out within that transition, but I know the Final Shot XIV have UP4 (again not 100% sure if thats the exact code, but its not UPC or PAT) just to clarify

I have no answer for the paint chipping that happens on III's. I know some people take the time to repaint them but for me I just accept the nature of the beast. III's chip, XIII's crease, all clear soles turn yellow over time, IV's midsoles do crumble over time; just is what it is.
I use to worry about that stuff but now I just wear them enjoy them because sooner or later they'll retro again. -Peace
Specifically my III's did have like hair line cracks on the red on the midsoles. I have not repainted them because as I stated in the video I like a beat pair of III's and I don't really mind it, as it is the nature of the beast. I also have a pair that I haven't worn and will probably pull those out next summer from time to time for casual wear.
Most people with severe chipping actually wear their III's all the time, ballin in them etc so have to expect that to happen. -Peace
You have to be original and buy what you like, don't worry about what others would want you to buy.
For the record the price for 01 III's is way to high considering there's a chance you wouldn't really be able to rock them like you hope to because they will damage easier do to age. -Peace
Lol I was throwing a fake pair of true blues in the garbage. Before I did that I compared it to some fire reds I just bought of NIke Talk that are really legit. Man I notice the same exact things as you. The lace wholes stitching doesn't continue all the way, but on the fakes it does. Same with the holes. There are other things though, the thick leather trim, and the A on the back is square on the top with the fakes instead of pointy.
The most significant and "Easiest" way to tell if the Jordan 3 is "Fake", is the Elephant Print. The "Authentic" Elephant Print is ENGRAVED into the leather. The "Fake" Elephant Print is just that, a print, it is PRINTED on the shoe not ENGRAVED into the leather. This is the best way to identify if they are "Fakes". PEACE!!!!

I gave plenty of things to look at to tell it they are real or not. Unfortunately cracking/chipping is the nature of the beast, I wouldn't chalk them up as being fake because the paint chipped because it happens. -Peace

Nah man, the midsole of the iii's is notorious for paint chipping. I owned an OG pair of black cement iii's and the paint still chipped. Even though some people say they dyed the iii's before. The definitely stopped dyeing all the 3's released after 2000. The shoe should just feel really cheap and fall apart. Jordan's shoes are high quality and they don't hurt your feet like fake J's.

I have a pair of fire red 3s size 6Y. There's only 2 red lace holes instead of 3 and the back part doesn't extend all the way to the top, so more red would show. Is that cause it's 6Y or is it fake?
good video but it only apply's to new jordans 2004 and up. OG 3's 1994's and 1999's are higher then todays retros and the paint doesnt crack as easy and the holes on old 3's are spaced differently. good video

I recently bought some fire reds for about 90 on ebay but i was wondering if the little holes you mention around the laces in the grey area, is that grey area supposed to be leather or suede? mine is a leather material but on yours it looks smooth like suede.
They are made the EXACT same way just a different color... check the area around the laces, the curve around the bottom of the tongue and the material. -Peace

the way to tell a real from a fake is lok at the size tag in the shoe and look at bottom were there all those codes and shit before it has the codes look right in front and u will ether see u.p.c or p.a.t now if it says u.p.c there real now if it says p.a.t then ther fake this has worked on all of my shoes

Thanks, jstar! You helped me out big-time. I was on the fence about bidding on a pair of 3's on ebay and your tutorial helped me detect them. I'm usually good at spotting fakes, but the 3's are tough(especially if you're viewing on the 'net and don't have them in your hand). You and rikobananas did a great job. Keep it up!

i dont know if this is trueee or not but my friend told me that on some of the shoes inside tag that show the size on the bottom it would either say UPC or PAT upc = authentic and real pat = fake.idk if its truee

let me break it down for you,
2005 & before, Jordans had PAT.
2006 & on, they had UPC,
But between 2005 & 2006, the had some transition going on within the tag, so they would have UP4 or something, not exactally sure, & i dont know what Jordans came out within that transition, but I know the Final Shot XIV have UP4 (again not 100% sure if thats the exact code, but its not UPC or PAT) just to clarify

I have no answer for the paint chipping that happens on III's. I know some people take the time to repaint them but for me I just accept the nature of the beast. III's chip, XIII's crease, all clear soles turn yellow over time, IV's midsoles do crumble over time; just is what it is.
I use to worry about that stuff but now I just wear them enjoy them because sooner or later they'll retro again. -Peace

Specifically my III's did have like hair line cracks on the red on the midsoles. I have not repainted them because as I stated in the video I like a beat pair of III's and I don't really mind it, as it is the nature of the beast. I also have a pair that I haven't worn and will probably pull those out next summer from time to time for casual wear.
Most people with severe chipping actually wear their III's all the time, ballin in them etc so have to expect that to happen. -Peace

You have to be original and buy what you like, don't worry about what others would want you to buy.
For the record the price for 01 III's is way to high considering there's a chance you wouldn't really be able to rock them like you hope to because they will damage easier do to age. -Peace

Lol I was throwing a fake pair of true blues in the garbage. Before I did that I compared it to some fire reds I just bought of NIke Talk that are really legit. Man I notice the same exact things as you. The lace wholes stitching doesn't continue all the way, but on the fakes it does. Same with the holes. There are other things though, the thick leather trim, and the A on the back is square on the top with the fakes instead of pointy.

The most significant and "Easiest" way to tell if the Jordan 3 is "Fake", is the Elephant Print. The "Authentic" Elephant Print is ENGRAVED into the leather. The "Fake" Elephant Print is just that, a print, it is PRINTED on the shoe not ENGRAVED into the leather. This is the best way to identify if they are "Fakes". PEACE!!!!

I gave plenty of things to look at to tell it they are real or not. Unfortunately cracking/chipping is the nature of the beast, I wouldn't chalk them up as being fake because the paint chipped because it happens. -Peace

Nah man, the midsole of the iii's is notorious for paint chipping. I owned an OG pair of black cement iii's and the paint still chipped. Even though some people say they dyed the iii's before. The definitely stopped dyeing all the 3's released after 2000. The shoe should just feel really cheap and fall apart. Jordan's shoes are high quality and they don't hurt your feet like fake J's.

Couldn't tell you, I don't wear youth sizes or don't have any to look at, neither of my sons have III's. to be honest they don't even wear J's that often anymore. Hopefully someone else will see you post and help out. -Peace

I have a pair of fire red 3s size 6Y. There's only 2 red lace holes instead of 3 and the back part doesn't extend all the way to the top, so more red would show. Is that cause it's 6Y or is it fake?

good video but it only apply's to new jordans 2004 and up. OG 3's 1994's and 1999's are higher then todays retros and the paint doesnt crack as easy and the holes on old 3's are spaced differently. good video

They are made the EXACT same way just a different color... check the area around the laces, the curve around the bottom of the tongue and the material. -Peace
