Sounds like fun with the soda in your Z-1. Do you have a video of the flight? I think it would be worth a try to see how it goes. It may take a bit of cleaning though to get any sticky residue off the rocket and launcher. Maybe trying fizzy mineral water will mean less cleaning. :)
Yes, I got a video of the fligth, but the rocket turn rigth and land far away (Im sure that the reason are the fins, because before my Z-1 rocket leave 8 fins).
Jet foaming is a technique for generating high pressure foam inside the rocket during flight. From about 1:08 you can see it in action. More details are available on our main website.
Hi Mushy. Nope, water rockets still all the way! :) The test stand is quite portable, and I can bring it out to Doonside if people want to do testing after the launch event.

Hi George,
I have tried to put some soda in my Z-1 rocket, and that was amazing. It caused an excesive acceleration and the rocket lose the control.
I think that put cheap soda in the boosters of a water rocket with booster could be an intresting idea. What do you think?

I am very interesting about your thrust tests. It is good job!
Lucky62410 3 years ago
what's the white gas coming out of the nozzle after the thrust?I also have alot of that stuff coming out of my rockets.
thx for posting.
racerx007666 3 years ago
The "white gas" is actually fog. As the pressure drops rapidly inside the rocket the air cools and the water vapor condenses into fog.

what now you've gone and got yourself a load cell? You realise I will be borrowing this one day... :)
Glad to see you didn't turn your back on water rockets for pyro...
