  • Nice, take all the energy from the core to slow the core down and lessen our magnetic shield, thus increasing radiation in our atmosphere. I am all for it. - Muahahahhaahahha.

  • there's an annoying thumping on the mic on this episode, or maybe it's techno music in the background

  • @mazdaplz It's a "pop". In audio it's a frequent problem with the use of microphones. TO get rid of these we use an anti-pop filter and a low-cut EQ.

  • ahh! melting plastic into the ground, that sounds so environmentally conscious

  • @mazdaplz well it's biodegradable plastic

  • I am so relieved! When I saw the words "Volcano Power" I was afraid maybe qdragon1337 was a Scientologist!

  • Thanks for the news.

  • Love this channel. You do stories I would probably never find otherwise. Thank you QDragon and Jack. Awesome, indeed!

  • It seems there is yet more evidence being compiled about pumping fluids deep into the earth causing earthquakes. That is bad news for fracking oil and gas wells. Without fracking drilling is prohibitive. Wells that produce freely at their best potential, are rare as hen's teeth. I am not advocating fracking, just saying.

  • @rollofnickles while similar to fracking the people behind this project have made sure the hydroshearing has a minimal risk of quakes. it's not near fault lines, residential areas and layers of volcanic ash should dampen any vibrations

  • @qdragon1337 Cool, but, how do you find a volcano that's not near a fault line? You don't need to answer.

  • @rollofnickles I forgot about Hawai.

  • @rollofnickles have you heard about plate tectonics? old volcanoes are not near fault lines, the crust moves. :)

  • @dumbnetworks I am pretty familiar with plate tecs., show me a mountain range( even the mountain ranges that have eroded away long ago(subterranean) and there are faults galore.

  • @rollofnickles hawaii

  • @dumbnetworks Is that a question? or... are you not aware that Hawaii is the result of a hot spot in the mantle and plate tectonics unlike volcanoes along subduction zones or the ring of fire. I'm not aware of faults associated with the volcanoes that have constructed the island chain of Hawaii. Or are you trying to be a spelling Nazi, if so, then you got me. Hooray for you.

  • @rollofnickles So,the question was there are any volcanoes that or not on a fault, yes there are, other questions? or you just lament on your failure?

  • @rollofnickles "Or are you trying to be a spelling Nazi" - I have to love people who use those sorts of lines to excuse their own ignorances. Not my fault, nooooo. Your fault, you are the spelling Nazi..... FAIL.

  • Personally I'm dubious about the notion of pumping water down into a dormant volcano!

  • Engineering geology would be your first category. But I agree it could be termed "awesome" :D.
