  • Beautiful form at 3:18... XD

  • Thanks for posting this wonderful clip! But just to clear up a few things for those of you, who are baffled by the length of this film. This is NOT a complete copy, this is actually an abridged version for the home movie market, released on 9,5mm film a few years after 1917. There are however complete copies in existence. Hope this helped!

  • Beautiful vídeo .

    Thank you .

  • Excuse me for this irrelevant question, but was Lloyd ever drafted to WW1?

  • haaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa i love these people!!!!!! rofl!!!OMG OMG OMG OMG LOL

  • Being curious about his hand injury;

did he sign his autographs left- or right-handed?!

  • All autographs pre 1936 (or 38) as some reports have it were signed by Foxy. Once Foxy retired in 38 to Palm Springs, Harold signed all his own autographs.

  • She does look at the camera!! I noticed and I thought I was the only one. That always drove me nuts!

  • About Bebe Daniels looking at the camera...you're right! Sometimes she does that and it drives me nuts! I actually thought it was her acting style. But no, I don't like it at all. I thought it was just me who noticed.

  • Ginger?what a stupid name for a guy.Thank goodness that after this one he was known as The Boy or Harold.

  • Bebe Daniels had a bad habit of looking at the camera, but lucky for her she stopped doing that later on in her career.

I just adore Harold Lloyd!!!! If anybody knows where I can find "Professor Beware" or "Welcome Danger",please let me know.

  • If you are logged in, Welcome Danger is on TCM tonight (Aug. 5, 2009) at 9:30 PM EDT. Other than that, neither title is available on DVD that I know of.

  • I simply adore Harold Lloyd!!!!

If anybody knows where I can find "Welcome Danger"or "Professor Beware",please let me know.

I like Bebe Daniels too,but she had a bad habit of looking at the camera.Lucky for her she stopped doing that later on in her career.

  • I just adore Harold Lloyd!!!!

  • Thanks for the heads-up on Foxy (though I think I saw him for all of 2 seconds).

I think he was made Vice-President of the Harold Lloyd Corporation, his sole duty being signing autographs on fan photos (Harold couldn't do it due to his incomplete right hand).

Snub Pollard is completely bizarre. He adds a touch of surrealism to Lloyd's films.

  • Even blurry, even jerky, in a bad print with bad music and everyone plastered in makeup, THAT'S OUR BOY, HAROLD LLOYD, and we. . . *l*o*v*e*. . .H(x)I(x)M(xxxxxxxoooooooooooohhhhhhhYEAH!)

  • Wow. So this was the first film, the debut of the glass character. I love it!

  • I just adore Harold Lloyd!!!!

  • Bebe Daniels had a bad habit of looking at the camera, thank goodness that DeMille got her to stop doing that because she was a good actress.

I just totally adore Harold Lloyd!!!! I collect his films,so If anybody know where I can find:Professor Beware or Welcome Danger, please let me know.

  • This is nice. But I wish it was more clearer.

  • This is incomplete. I hope this movie isn't one of those movies that are lost or incomplete.

  • we love you harold....

  • Was Oliver Hardy in this? There's a rather robust fellow in a top hat toward the end in that slap fight that looked a bit like Ollie. Hard to tell from the digitization but if this was a Hal Roach production, Ollie could've been an extra. Another one of my heroes. :)

  • HAHAHA!!! I like his warm-up exercises....

  • Incredible how the glasses instantly made Lloyd's character!

  • Oh yeah, the umpire is Harold's dad: Foxy!

  • Thanks for posting this! I always wanted to see the first movie of the glasses character. Harold is the best!

  • I like your video clip and have rated it as awesome. Please check out my clip of silent movie star tobacco cards. They include: Harold Lloyd, Charlie Chaplin, Rudolph Valentino, Mary Pickford, Lillian Gish, Tom Mix, Jackie Coogan and many more.

  • Not to many of us Alive, to remember that!
