Thanks for posting this wonderful clip! But just to clear up a few things for those of you, who are baffled by the length of this film. This is NOT a complete copy, this is actually an abridged version for the home movie market, released on 9,5mm film a few years after 1917. There are however complete copies in existence. Hope this helped!
All autographs pre 1936 (or 38) as some reports have it were signed by Foxy. Once Foxy retired in 38 to Palm Springs, Harold signed all his own autographs.
About Bebe Daniels looking at the camera...you're right! Sometimes she does that and it drives me nuts! I actually thought it was her acting style. But no, I don't like it at all. I thought it was just me who noticed.
If you are logged in, Welcome Danger is on TCM tonight (Aug. 5, 2009) at 9:30 PM EDT. Other than that, neither title is available on DVD that I know of.
Thanks for the heads-up on Foxy (though I think I saw him for all of 2 seconds).
I think he was made Vice-President of the Harold Lloyd Corporation, his sole duty being signing autographs on fan photos (Harold couldn't do it due to his incomplete right hand).
Snub Pollard is completely bizarre. He adds a touch of surrealism to Lloyd's films.
Even blurry, even jerky, in a bad print with bad music and everyone plastered in makeup, THAT'S OUR BOY, HAROLD LLOYD, and we. . . *l*o*v*e*. . .H(x)I(x)M(xxxxxxxoooooooooooohhhhhhhYEAH!)
Was Oliver Hardy in this? There's a rather robust fellow in a top hat toward the end in that slap fight that looked a bit like Ollie. Hard to tell from the digitization but if this was a Hal Roach production, Ollie could've been an extra. Another one of my heroes. :)
I like your video clip and have rated it as awesome. Please check out my clip of silent movie star tobacco cards. They include: Harold Lloyd, Charlie Chaplin, Rudolph Valentino, Mary Pickford, Lillian Gish, Tom Mix, Jackie Coogan and many more.
Beautiful form at 3:18... XD

Bebe Daniels had a bad habit of looking at the camera, but lucky for her she stopped doing that later on in her career.
I just adore Harold Lloyd!!!! If anybody knows where I can find "Professor Beware" or "Welcome Danger",please let me know.
