  • Dennis Miller is just a classic chickenhawk. Yeah he's real brave and supportive of war when he doesn't have to fight the battles he has a hard-on for. Fuck Dennis Miller! His ass wouldn't last five seconds being waterboarded. He'd start crying like the pussy that he is. If he knew anything he'd realize that the info he speaks of from KSM was obtained before KSM was waterboarded. Fuck Dennis Miller!

  • I would argue Miller's premise that waterboarding hasn't killed anyone, because Reagan had people that waterboarded Americans executed, because Reagan considered it torture.

The other stupid thing about Miller's point was summed up by Jesse Ventura, give him a waterboard and an hour with Dick Cheney and Cheney would confess to killing Sharon Tate, because you'll confess to anything to stop from being drowned.

  • @gramamge33

    Exactly. Well said.

  • @gramamge33

    ooh oh oh

    comedy aside...

those confessions are often yield invaluable information that saves human lives...it is proven.

you are so critical because you have a better suggestion?

    lets hear it.

  • @gramamge33 Executed? We excute people for 1st degree murder and sedition. Amazing! Waterboarding terrorists to get information that would save innocent lives seems unreasonable to you, but executing a Sheriff for waterboarding prisoners seems perfectly reasonable to you. It seems the liberal media has you so brainwashed against waterboarding, that you think it is more horrible in any situtation than terrorism. The sheriff got 10 years and the deputies got 4.

  • why is there a brutish neanderthal simpleton grunting and pounding his furry chest on tv? wow he sure looks tough. the sloping forehead and pea-sized brain is rather funny looking though. i had no idea cavemen wore suits.

  • Disgusting human being...this Dennis Miller creep.

  • Miller reminds me of the pathetic professor in "The Blue Angel" who ruined his life and his reputation when he was seduced by something that looked so absolutely glamorous and sexy. In Miller's case, it was money and the chance to get in bed and make "sexy time" with right-wing extremists. He's disgusting. No one listens to him anymore.

  • No one? Prove it. I do.

  • You're the first person who responded to that challenge in two months.

    I rest my case.

  • Dennis is a comedian. When he started acting like people take him serious he lost value. Loved his HBO show, just pass him by whenever I see him on now...

  • I used to like Miller, but he is a fucking sadist Nazi just like the Bush people

  • Wow! We can prevent atrocities by torturing Muslims! I never knew!

If you know that the bomb's going off in five minutes and Mohammed here knows where it is, you already know where the bomb is. Whatever happened to habeus corpus? Is everybody accused of being a terrorist already convicted and therefore worthy of inhuman treatment?

You'd have to prove to me that a given prisoner had participated in atrocities against other people before I'd support the same methods against them.

  • First of all I hate to see anybody hurt at all , however if Mohammeds buddies are all in a known terrorist group and hates Americans, chances are he is one of them and may have information that could help save innocent lives. I don''t have problem with waterbording or sleep deprivation to get info. There are much much worse forms of interrogation used on people all over the world and throughout history. Would you not kick the shit out of someone who threatened somebody you love?

  • its not the same methods. learn about middle eastern imprisonments- the torture includes mutilation, removing of fingernails, removing of limbs, and 9 times out of ten death.

these prisoners are left in rooms with 24 hours of light. boo fuckin hoo.

  • You're right, of course. Now I see: as long as somebody of their race has done something worse we're justified.

  • ehem...islam is not a race, its barely a religion anymore, its an ideology, like nazism

  • You know, I think compared to the torture that the taleban commits both on captured soldiers and on their own people, waterboarding is NOT THAT BAD! I have yet to hear of a US soldier cutting someone's head off slowly and videotaping it to send to the person's family!

  • Some people have said that we should test the water-boarding tactic based on how we'd feel if we saw our own prisoners of war in similar circumstances. That's certainly something to consider for future wars; but in this one, we'd be quite lucky if our enemies limited themselves to mere drowning simulation.

ps: water-boarding was a tactic practiced on our own soldiers back in the 90s.

  • Waterboarding - when sitting the terrorist down to tea and asking "pretty please with sugar on top" doesnt work!

  • It's this simple, the most committed wins every time. So do what it takes to win! In the two cases of waterboarding, good information was collected!

  • Hey maybe we should just say PRETTY PLEASE and they won't blow up innocent Americans anymore. I'd hate to make the guy uncomfortable while trying to stop his plans for another terror attack . Or maybe send them to bed without supper .

  • ffrostychicone, are you saying that people are guilty until proven innocent, or do you think that all Muslims are terrorists who should be waterboarded until we find out all that they know?

  • yes my friend , i'd rather make one guy who's connected to known terrorists uncomfortable for a while ( not like they poking his eyes out or something else permanent) than have more innocent people killed . These guys aren't real followers of islam . they are heretics and fanatics, ignorant of what their religion really is about. and just for the record, it doesn't matter who they are, muslim or otherwise . These people are not picked at random, they are picked up because of their afilliations.

  • ffrostychinone, exactly, i agree. lets worry about the human rights of the victims first instead of those we know are suspected of crimes against humanity. i shed no tears for forstul interrogation of those who have an ideology of hate. and among them, there may be innocent, for whom i feel sorry, but compare the percetage of innocents being murdered - AND tortured around the world!

  • Hey, if it comes down to getting info out of a terrorist to save American lives.... I'd rather be waterboarding. Keep it up, Dennis.

  • water boarding is not a good practice we stand for freedom!!

  • Liberals talk about the moral high ground, but do very little. Conservative actions to oppose evil, cause liberals to get "embarrased". Liberals strain at a gnat and swallow a camel. I've seen over and over, when you point out the comparison between US "torture" and real torture used by the enemy, all you usually get is a fast change of subject. Liberals need to grow up. Except they usually don't because they think they know it all. They're slaves to the peer group pressure of the leftist elite.

  • No change of subject here tubewatch59. Presidental Candiate Conservative John McCain himself has come out against torture. I wonder why? It's because what little valuable intelligence you get out of it is vastly outweighed by all the negatives,i.e. it puts are soldier in greater danger, like it or not it makes the torturers sadists,It is a recruting poster for enenmy. And what's the stop a little waterboarding to be used on us? Of course all you have to say is the right magic words.

  • How is something that has not killed anybody as bad as using an electric fillet knife to slice a human head off like it was the thigh on a Christmas turkey?

  • you guys are all fucked up..all i can say if it isnt that bad then let me waterboard you ,,let me torture you, the way they tortured INNOCENT iraqi's, i guarenfukentee you would be screaming for the allmighty to set you free!

  • Waterboarding is not torture. you can see many demo vids on YT and in all of them the subject gets up and walks away unharmed, many of them last only a few seconds. If you want to see torture, look into what has happened to AMERICAN soldiers who were captured by enemies. Electrocution(not just hooking wires to the fingers and snapping a photo) Ripping off fingernails or limbs. Or how about Cutting someones head off with a dull blade. Let's try that and see what happens.

  • Waterboarding simulates drowning...ANYONE who has come close to drowning knows how painful it is!

So Dennis Miller says that Americans are better than their enemies because they just ARE? WTF??? How about not throwing away everything that your constitution stood for? How about being f*ckin decent human beings, and treat your prisoners with respect for their rights? Because let's be honest, it's only a matter of time before you kill/torture/"crucify" an innocent person, then where will u be?

  • This is why America is doomed. The moral high ground is the refuge of cowards and idiots. Yes, water-boarding is torture: get on with it.

  • Ask Dennis if he approves the use of waterboarding on his daughter. Ask anyone who says its OK to use to get suspected information.

None of us live in Dennis' hypothetical world where we KNOW that someone knows something that will save lives. That is immpossible! We can only suspect that person knows something and then try to coerce it out of them. It can, will and I suspect has been used on people (thats right... PEOPLE not them/they/etc) that were innocent or had no information to offer.

  • Maybe, just maybe, Dennis Miller thought Americans were smart enough to realize that they the average American is a better person than the average jihadist b/c we actually value innocent lives and don't intentionally take them. Maybe, just maybe, we're better than them b/c we only waterboard the worst of the worst terrorists rather than brutally executing every man (soldier or not) we capture, like our enemies do. Maybe foreign fighters are not guaranteed the rights of US citizens.

  • That's right emerica. Stand on your moral high ground and wag your finger at the toture supporters. Only problem is your beloved Democratic law makers on the intelligence committee knew all about what was going on after 9/11 and gave the CIA a nice little wink and nod when they thought another terrorist attack was imminent (and several were but they were thankfully halted by, you guessed it, waterboarding) but now that that's all behind us they just have to come out against "torture."

  • I can't imagine anyone disagreeing with this. The excuse I always hear is "we don't want it done to our guys'. Has that EVER been the case?

  • No, our guys end up tortured, mutilated, or murdered. These pukes should get on their hands and knees and thank Allah that all we did was splash some fucking water on their faces.

  • Well this guy is right on the money. A harmless yet effective way to get information.

  • Before Waterboarding: 9/11

After Waterboarding: No terrorist attacks on U.S. Soil.

Why are people against this again?

  • @InfidelOnTheGo well i think the danger of torture is you never know how far it will escalate and picture yourself being an innocent person and have to be tortured for information you dont have. and can you trust the government to not torture protesters and just label them terrorist and be given a green light to torture their enemies instead of the countries' enemies

  • i'd love to shake osbladen hand

  • "We dont have to prove! We are!!"...wow! No wonder the world hates America

  • Hmmm. So we are not higher than the folks who hijacked a CIVILIAN PLANE....and crashed it into a CIVILIAN BUILDING. Hmmm....

  • this is exactly what i am talking about. terrorists attacks happen all over the world. I am not sympathizing with those assholes but you cannot use 9/11 in each and every argument. Did you know more people died in Israel in 2001 due to terrorism than usa?Just coz i said USA Isnt the supreme ruler doesnt mean i'm equating them to terrorists. Where's ur logic?

  • sorry my bad, i heard wrong. I agree with you, disregard my earlier comment :D

  • We should use more torture then water boarding...I say we saw their fucking heads off if they dont speak up.They do it to us..I know I know, the liberal faggot response in coming......well dont waste your time, you pussies are whats making this country soft and vulnerable.Dennis Miller is brilliant.

  • I know, I'm a reactionary 'pussy' to say it, but where do we draw the line?

If you start waxing captives in the name of anti-terrorism, why not go the whole nine and go Rambo on their collective asses in the name of 'aggressive discouragement'?

Fact is, if we take even a single step down that path, we loose our high ground; because that makes us just as they are, and then it's just a war over who called Charlie a cock bag in third grade.

'Course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

  • very wrong..we dont have "to be " like everyone else..especially countries who oppose our freedoms and religions..we have the right to 'own those fuckers" for messing with us..

  • So what do you suggest we do? Slap them on the wrist and say "bad terrorist!" Or should we just resort to asking kindly. "Please tell us where the bomb is..."

So where do you draw the line?

  • Yeah he is probably jerking of to that "Litterature" every night!

Making fun out of torture, fucking assholes!

"We don´t have to prove it, we are", haaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahhaaahahhahahahahahahahhahahahahahahha

  • So tell me, what would you do to get information out of evil people in order to save others...May I ask? Shall we slap them on the wrist? Maybe if we just ask kindly?

  • There is no Evil in this world, that is a word!

There is sick human beings and people with different views!

Both sides call one another evil!

Who can garantee that innocent people are tortured?

The CIA kidnapped a German citizen, a innocent person and tortured him!

    That is only ONE!

  • Wether or not you believe there is such thing, answer the question. What do you suggest we do?

  • And of course, that whining, ignorant liberal would NOT answer your simple question. No surprise there. This is why we can't elect liberals into positions of power...especially where national security is concerned. They have no plan, only complaints.

  • Dennis Miller is Americas Greatest and #1 Chickenhawk.

  • Why don't you invest a little more for a demonstration than an $8 cartoon? If it's not torture, then why don't you volunteer to a demonstration?

  • Miller isn't planning on killing innocent civilians so there's no reason to subjugate him with waterboarding.

  • He says it's not torture either, so he should try it. Many police departments require police officers to be tased so that they use restraint before tasing someone. It's the same idea. Go back to talking to Joe Dirt, not politics.

  • So, I guess by that rationale, you're saying it would be acceptable for waterboarding to continue to be used as an interrogation method if the users have been waterboarded themselves. I don't have a problem with that, just like the tasing thing. The difference is, you don't continue to waterboard the 'good guys', you give them a taste of waterboarding.

  • Waterboarding is meant to be uncomfortable. That's why it works. There shouldn't be any dispute about using it on terrorists. What they've done or plan to do is much worse that waterboarding.

  • BTW, is the reason you don't want me to talk politics because you're afraid of being challenged by a voice of reason?

  • I was talking about Dennis Miller talking politics. The US has a no torture policy. If it's not torture, then can't police do it to suspects here? This is no different than hooking electrodes to your testicles, it's torture.

  • I guess what I don't understand is why you would care about a terrorist being waterboarded. I have no sympathy for those nutcases.

  • Fred, we're wait to take over and do it to you.

  • HUH?

  • Pouring water over someone's face in order to save a city or a nation is NEVER worth it.

  • I am so sick of you liberals that are in denial about people that want to destroy our country and kill us all, is it going to take another 9/11 for you to realize this?

  • It doesn't matter. They'll ALWAYS think that America is the root cause of all problems.

By the way, it's not ALL liberals, just the crazy ones. Unfortunately, most of the crazy liberals choose to sit on their computer all day and spew anti-American comments all over YouTube.

  • Dennis Miller, would you feel the same way about waterboarding if 6 masked men grabbed you off the street, took you to a dark warehouse, and submitted you to "enhanced interrogation techniques" including waterboarding? What about any member of your family undergoing this torture?

At least, in your words, it won't kill you. After they found you innocent they might let you go home.

  • I would hate to see Dennis Miller or anyone of his family tortured, but I wouldn't mind seeing you tortured, because your an Idiot, pussy canadian.

  • At least you're honest about it.

  • There is a difference. Miller doesn't want to destroy America. He doesn't know of any terrorist plots to kill thousands of innocent people.

  • What if you were that innocent person who is forced to give up your rights?

And I'm sure the government has made more then one mistake.

The patriot act trades safety for freedom; Its just a euphemism of the 'kill them all let god sort it out' mentality.

  • I would not be opposed to torturing terrorist, if we knew they were terrorist.

Truth is This is NOT an episode of 24.

We should never imprison citizens indefinitely with out due process.

If this torture is so righteous why do we take them to an island,do it here.

  • We should be torturing them just as badly as we're taking it from them.. you have to fight fire with fire, it's been said for years. So, pussies? That would be the conservatives, not the liberals.....

  • He makes a very good point about people being critical before, but are those same people critical after Americans have been killed. You pussy liberals need to understand the meaning of the statement beware the fury of the patient man. These people are trying to kill us and destroy our way of life. They will do this at any cost and do not discriminate between crying do-gooders and people like me who kill them for a living. WAKE UP AND SMELL THE SYMTEX

  • I had Reese's for breakfast

  • This guy's a fucking idiot. You like water boarding so much? How about we throw you down, and do it to you. Will you still like it afterwards?

  • Somehow I don't think anyone is under th impression that it is pleasant. And ya I bet he would still think the same thing afterwards.

  • I doubt that. He looks like a pussy.

  • so do you, so what.

  • EIOmarco I'm a tad bit behind but how do you think these INNOCENT terrorist, WHOOPS!! I meant Islamic extremist would treat you. With open arms of course! Sorry my bad and of course they would never think of putting you through anything as bad as torture. And surely they would let you tell them all about your opinions on national television. Good luck, Friend, Peace be with you.

  • Is there anything wrong with the truth? Draw out your own conclusions. You will no matter what your view. Although I'm positive the animations will help. If only these were animations. RIGHT??

  • Dehumanizing one's enemies ("animals"), defending torture and war (i.e. the violation of the human rights charta and the genever and hague conventions) while still claiming to have the moral high ground... where do I know this from? Oh yes, 1933-45 e.g. - and for about one and a half thousand years before 1945 from the catholic church. Not to mention every other autoritarian or fascist system or nationalist society. So sad to see that Miller is a hipocritical, nationalist propagandist.

  • Exactly. And if anything, you'd think that this attitude would be considered 'un-Christian'. But it seems that the Christian right are the first to hold this attitude.

The right seem to talk alot about morality but for some reason don't get the importance of keeping moral high ground over enemies during wartime. Weird.

Torture doesn't necessarily get you truth either, they'll at some point just tell you what you want to hear.

  • I'm fine with keeping the "high ground", but jeez its not like we throw them in an iron maidon. Have we forgotten what these people do. Its not hard to have a moral high ground over them.

  • How is this guy a "comedian"?

  • *Every year, millions of DOGS and CATS are slaughtered cruelly in China & South Korea.

*Animals are TORTURED FOR LONG TIME and have a PAINFUL DEATH,

because when the body is in pain, it releases adrenaline - it makes the meat more tasty.

*Korean & Chinese Traditional Method : More Pain = More Adrenaline = More

  • Damn! No wonder Korean BBQ tastes soooooooo GOOD!!! Torture is tasty!

  • Did you go to the National Serial Killers Convention this year? Swap recipies? Or maybe you were trying to be funny? I hear that serial killers have a lousy sense of humor. Loser.

  • ...who cares if some dogs and cats on the other side of the earth are getting killed? it doesn't affect me one bit.

  • Contrary to ill-founded (read: leftist/defeatist) information, certain types of torture is very effective. I don't give a good goddamn about who's reporting on dead detainees. They were picked up on the battlefield, not out of a f-ing grocery store!

  • Dear Sporty chums, Over 20 'innocent' or 'served their sentence then released' former detainees of Gitmo have turned up on the battle field later, fightin' for the love of Mo! Be it ever so inept, there's no place like homeland security. "Grocery store!" Now that's funny.

  • I think we should torture them any way we want to save american lives

  • Torture is not an efficient means of gaining intelligence.A few days of sleep deprivation, low food, and the humilation and pain of even such 'humane' torture techniques (heck, there is a paradox for you) and I wonder, would you lie, tell the truth, say nothing seeing as you never knew what the truth was in the first place, or if you did, you are so disorientated you can't quite remember what the truth was anyway?

  • You go ahead and wonder all you want. But I'll just as soon leave that decision up to the CIA experts on counterterrorism and interrogation techniques who do this sort of thing for a living. No offense.

  • People will waterboard as long as they get to say which ones of us are the terrorists

  • Here here Dennis Miller. This guy is the man, and while I don't think we should kill, cut, or torture people, waterboarding, sleep depravation, and the like to save innocent lives is well worth it. I can live with myself knowing we're doing those things to save little boys and little girls not just here in America but around the globe.

I fear the point at which Europe and liberals open their eyes to this threat it will be too late.

  • I didn't realize what kind of anti-human propaganda you US citizens are exposed to, until I saw this clip. This man has absolutely no regards for human rights at all! I just can't believe it's so bad on the other side of the pond. You have my condolences americans.

  • No, he just holds the rights of the innocent human beings who will be killed by a terrorist attack that could have been prevented by "water boarding" in higher regard than he does those of inhuman terrorist murderers. It's really quite simple. Why don't you take your condolences and shove them up your holier-than-thou, pompous, America-hating ass.

  • yeah he can "waterboard", someone for 3 hours, and interrogate him for 3 more or he can sit at his desk and read a 5 pages thick dossier in the same time;half a Bus full of flyschoolars who know eachother have tickets.

no he`ll read the news next day.

  • Dennis rules. The leftists here who claim they are so 'offended' by his comments are nothing more than hapless pussies who can't handle reality.

  • Here's some free speech: Dennis Miller is an Asshole. Who's reports on dead detainees is he reading? The only thing that rivals his absolute stupidity is his smug little smirks and laughs. I don't understand why even has a voice in this discussion. Oh yeah, it's Fox News. They give Assholes a voice 24/7

  • Oh yeah. Waterboarding is better than another 3000 or another ONE dead American as the result of terrorist acts.

We don't waterboard anyone who is not a terrorist.

  • ha. there we go, yet another perfect example of how the US is using propaganda to get kids into the army. they are not humans, there "animals" since they are "animals" they must be the "pure evil" that is an abomination to our white collar Cristian lifestyles. could there be any greater form of bull sh!t? oh well, we might as well march around the white house with bags over our heads chanting "hail kibo" then try and compete with this crap.

  • I think this guy has some point but what i think he needs to relize is that is still torture

  • Horrendous.I would never belittle myself by throwing water on my face to make a point.I used to be a fan of his not now.

  • a jew showing his true color.

  • oh miller...how the great have fallen.

  • I believe in the quote attributed to Caligula (Roman Emperor) "oderint dum metuant: Let them hate so long as they fear" We need to be strong and we can't stop them hating us. LET THEM FEAR US.

  • absolutely appalling

and to think that I actually used to like this guy.

  • Pulling out peoples fingernails has never killed anyone either, he is good at attacking points that noone makes.

  • No matter what Miller says, how any of you who think pelosi is qualified to do anything more than sell bra's in Macy's basement is unbelieveable. I live in that witches district, and she is as left as they get. She votes for anything that is pro-queer and anti-family. The queens got her firmly in pocket.

  • Pure evil of the enemy? And they think the same of you. Two wrongs don't make a right. I'd like to see you in a foreign country getting water poured down your nose for a week straight... sounds stupid but its still torture. There are other ways to get information. Hence Intelligence, who have more humane methods. This is a huge disgrace and Fox made a mistake by showing this (especially by cancelling firefly...)

  • Disgusting. Pure Propaganda. Comparing Human Torture with Austin Powers. "We don't need to prove we're human"... i.e. we can do whatever we want to those "animals"? Ignorant, stupid, and very worrying this is being broadcast directly into millions of American homes.

  • VERY scary.

i literally dropped my jaw when I saw the austin powers clips, along with the ricockulous sound effects and the like.

  • Miller's got my vote!

  • Dennis Miller for President!

  • If every Conservative on YouTube who supports the war actually enlisted, we might have enough troops.

  • "The Left today has the same problem distinguishing between their opposition to the origins of the war (and for some, the seemingly pathological desire to oppose President Bush), and the need to support our troops in battle. For the good of the country, and our troops in Iraq, opponents of the war should follow the lead of Abraham Lincoln. "

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. MOST. RETARDED. POST. EVER.

  • This reply makes you look just BRILLIANT. How did you learn such witty and pithy retorts? "Retarded".

What are you in, about the NINTH GRADE? Grow up, Scooter.

  • The Left today has the same problem distinguishing between their opposition to the origins of the war (and for some, the seemingly pathological desire to oppose President Bush), and the need to support our troops in battle. For the good of the country, and our troops in Iraq, opponents of the war should follow the lead of Abraham Lincoln.

  • Now you say I don't support the troops. Yeah okay, because my brother is serving right now and you assume I don't "support" him. But you confuse support with SUBMISSIVENESS about the war in general. I continue to disagree about the war while I send my brother cards and things like that. "Support the troops" to you is code for "support the war".

Don't bring that up again because its pointless. You're just resorting to ideological posturing.

  • Here's a contradiction in your view: You said that you wouldn't have invaded Iraq in the first place. But then you said that there is "more than enough evidence" linking al-Qaeda and Iraq, which was the justification for war.

I want to know where that evidence is. And I want to know whether in 2003 you supported the war.

  • "The distinction between the cause of the President in beginning the war, and the cause of the country after it was begun, is a distinction which you [Democrats] cannot perceive."

  • Another one of your unsupported ideas is that we shouldn't be able to torture state-owned soldiers but we

should be able to torture stateless soldiers.

    What's the difference there?

And is that a kind of universal principle that you would say everyone should follow? If not everyone, then just us? And do you think that's fair?

  • But Lincoln drew a bright line between his opposition to the origins of the war and his support for the troops once the war had begun. He consistently voted to give the troops the support they needed. And when Democrats attacked him for opposing the war and opposing Democratic President James Polk's rationale for it, this was his reply:

  • There is a much better model for those who oppose the war in Iraq but who are determined not to let their opposition harm our troops in the field and our chances for victory. When Abraham Lincoln was a young congressman in 1848, he was a harsh critic of the Mexican War (although, it is important to note, Lincoln was not vocal in his criticism of the war until most of the fighting had ended).

  • Think about what that means. They haven't stood up courageously to vote to cut off funding for the war and take responsibility. No, they have avoided responsibility and sent the President a bill that is designed to fail and leave young Americans in uniform to pay the price. Senator Reid then states publicly that our policy in Iraq will win Democrats more seats in Congress. Shamefully, they would rather treat this issue with political expediency than the seriousness it requires.

  • Today, we have the Men and Women of Munich. Just as before, these are elites who are afraid to face evil, afraid to recognize what our enemies are doing, and afraid to put partisanship aside and put America first so we can join together to defeat those who would destroy us. They passed a bill in Congress that they have been enthusiastically telling their leftwing allies is designed to end the war in Iraq by crippling the military's ability to achieve victory.

  • Don't accuse me of being partisan only to bring in partisan politics yourself. Yeah real smooth. I'm not a Democrat anyway.

  • I don't care what you call yourself. You've made your views quite clear. You've sided with partisans like Reid, Pelosi, and Clinton who would rather play politics than fund and support the troops they sent to fight for us. You compare our founders to terrorists, you blame our country for the attacks waged by terrorists, and you advocate appeasement, withdrawl, emboldening our enemies, and a reckless sit-and-wait military strategy. I know exactly what you are.

  • I am enjoying this thread. Keep it going guys!

  • 4 out of 5 stars. LOL

  • We are attacked because they hate everything we stand for. Freedom, liberty, equality. You can dodge the issues, and comically blame me for terrorist attacks, but that doesn't make it so. Apparently these attacks aren't enough to rouse your patriotism. So, tell me, what would you be willing to fight and die for, if not the preservation of the greatest nation this world has ever produced?

  • Explain WHY that committment is weak. You're like a parent who doesn't know how to properly discipline a child, and you give in to the child's whining by whining yourself. Now that's weak.

  • What are you talking about? What do parenting skills have to do with this discussion? Your inappropriate similies aside, nobody is giving in except the liberals. If they had their way, they would defund the war, pull our troops out in shame and defeat, leave the Iraqi people twisting in the wind, and irreparably damage our credibility and influence in the world community, and encourage more terrorist attacks by handing them a huge victory. THAT is weak. That is todays liberalism.

  • Should have thought about that before you invaded Iraq. Now youve gotten us into a quagmire, so dont complain that you would encourage more attacks if you pulled out. You encouraged more terrorist attacks the minute you went in.

I say youre weak because you lower OUR standards for battle when dealing with people who already have low standards. And other countries do in fact model their behavior after ours. The next war they will compare their actions to ours.

  • I didn't invade Iraq. If it were my choice I NEVER would have. But we did, based on the info we had and the defiance of Saddam, and now we must finish the job. I would have handled things differently if the choices were mine. The Administration has made MANY mistakes, but we can still achieve victory and help the Iraqis create a new birth of freedom in Iraq. As I said, you have it backward. The cut and run strategy will embolden the terrorists. Liberating Iraq killed them.

  • Because liberty is always defended, it's not offended. It doesnt make sense to defend liberties at home by invading and occupying a country that didn't have anything to do with the initial provocation.

We dont even talk about al-Qaeda anymore. It's all Iraq, and that had nothing to do with 9/11. That's why we dont belong in Iraq--they weren't the terrorists who attacked us. That's why we should leave and I think reconstruction would be better without us.

  • That's your opinion. And its wrong. There has been more than enough evidence that points to Al Qaeda and terrorist presence in Iraq, Afganistan, and Iran. So I don't know what island you've been hiding on. Pull out now, and you'll see the same kind of genocide that occured after the Democrats forced our surrender in Vietnam. Liberals own defeat.

  • You say there's evidence of al-Qaeda in Iraq and Iran. Okay, dude, where is it? Point me to an article if it's so ubiquitous. There IS a party in Iraq that we helped to form, and yes, it is an al-Qaeda party. It didn't exist before 2003.

I find it hard to believe you weren't one of the mongers telling us Iraq has WMD in 2003 because you though there was "more than enough evidence..."

  • What ideology to you suppose the insurgents and former ruling power of Iraq supported? Terrorism. There are Al Qaeda operatives fighting in Iraq, Afganistan - and funded by the likes of Iran. I'm sure there are MANY things you find hard to believe. Mainly, the truth.

  • And we continue to kill them there every day. These are evil men bent on our total destruction. You can either face this threat and defend freedom and democracy around the globe, or wait for them to destroy us one terror attack at a time. You have clearly shown which choice you have made. You are no better than the "Men of Munich" who chose to risk defeat rather than admit they were wrong about the evil of Hitler.

  • Your foreign policy is that we should police the world and always snuff out terrorism where we see it. That does work, and as a utilitarian you like what works. But it is only short-lived since its too offensive. We spread ourselves thin and we make more enemies that way.

The best strategy is defensive. That's why we have a right to bear arms--to defend ourselves and our property. Our military should work on that principle.

  • Another misrepresentation. We make more enemies by standing around with our hands in our pockets doing nothing as terrorists murder innocent people. Thank God you're not in charge of our foreign policy. I can just tell you would try and Jimmy Carter your way around the war on terror. In case you hadn't heard, the best defense is a strong offense.

  • "Best defense is a strong offense."

Even Israel doesn't follow that policy, and it has many enemies. Israel doesn't invade Syria just to uproot terrorist organizations. It invades if an attack is imminent, yes. But it doesn't travel around the world to do it. The best defense is a good defense. You're going to have to argue a lot better if you want to say otherwise. Where's your argument?

  • Israel is surrounded by Muslim countries ruled by extremism. They couldn't possibly achieve a military operation on the scale you suggest. They are also not the leading power on the globe as we are. You are still avoiding the main argument which is the defense of our nation and society, which cannot be done by the methods you propose.

  • Israel defends their nation without policing the world. And you said it cannot be done. Israel has even more enemies than we do, and yet they can defend their country without massive invasion and regime changes.

Israel testifies that the best defense is the best defense. You still have not given ANY argument as to why offense is the best defense.

  • First of all, patriotism has been the buzzword that arouses belligerence in Americans. The administration used "patriotism" the moment they wanted to start this war. It is blatant ideology that I disagree with.

I believe this nation has separated from the original ideas that Thomas Jefferson set forth. I'm not an FDR liberal. I'm a classical liberal. This war wouldnt have happened if the state wasnt so powerful.

  • Patriotism is a word, and words mean things. It means devoted love, support, and defense of one's country; national loyalty. I really don't care what you call yourself. Answer my question. What would you be willing to fight and die for? Why doesn't the slaughter of your countrymen by islamo-fascist terrorists evoke your outrage and patriotism? Please explain.

  • Willing to die for--independence, individual liberty, and all our freedoms.

Our rights are what Americans have in common. That's what makes us a nation. We don't all believe the same things, but our rights are held in common.

  • If you are willing to fight and die for those principals, then why haven't you stood up in the face of islamo-fascist terrorism? We are living in serious times when all of us need to think of the needs of our country and its future rather than our own personal or party interest. In the years before World War II, the people of Great Britain and America eventually saw what the elites refused to see.

  • What makes my views 'elite'? Im just trying to get America to set the kind of example that it wants other countries to model. When I was a kid I thought America was great. I thought it had all the answers. And I knew that's why other countries imitated us. But I see America setting bad examples for the world, and I see other countries using those bad examples as standards for which to judge their own policies. Thats why its crucial to do the right thing--not just act out of 'moral outrage'.

  • The right thing is to defend our families, our nation, and our society. Your ideas will not accomplish these goals. Your insistence on blaming America for everything that is wrong in the world is disturbing. We are not the moral equivalent of regimes like North Korea and Iran. We have been defending and securing the world for over half a century now. Open your eyes, pal.

  • Your comments are more like showmanship. You never will understand what Im saying about our revolutionaries because, well, youre blinded by the prevailing war ideology. You cant come close to being objective. You're ultra-nationalistic. Im a Libertarian, yet you insist I'm a Democrat. You say I blame our country for terrorist attacks, which is what you want to say about me even though I never said that. Oh yeah, and you question my "patriotism".

  • Believe it or not, people are intelligent and can understand written arguments, even when they are as flawed as yours. I do not accept the premise on which your argument is based because it is not a sensible or reasonable comparison. Its clouded by ideology and hate.

  • They saw their futures, their families' futures, and the great civilization they had built threatened. And so they acted to defend them. They weren't out to score cheap political points. They weren't blinded by political correctness. They demanded that their families and their nation be defended. They demanded something more serious and more substantive from their leaders. And if we do the same I have a feeling we're going to get it.

  • My biggest concern is what do liberties here in America have to do with our own citizens being far far away from those liberties, in a country that has nothing to do with the defense of those liberties? The only reason for war is to defend that liberty. If its conflicted, then you must be compensated--or you make them compensate you. But this war is so removed from all that. This war is based on lies, state power, ideology, and manipulation of the CIA. Everything about it is shameful.

  • Everything about your argument is shameful. It is based on lies, ideology, manipulation of the media and the voters, and party power.

  • This is the part in our little debate when I say, "Show me where I said we were the moral equivalent of North Korea and Iran."

Youre just like the talkshow hosts who DISTORT the other view in order to DEMONIZE and make it sound unpatriotic, emboldening terrorists, and "appeasing" etc

You dont properly evaluate my argument. You just say that Im all those nasty things without justification. Just like your icons--Hannity and the rest--you are not critical in any evaluations or advocacy.

  • "But I see America setting bad examples for the world, and I see other countries using those bad examples as standards
