Why the UN was targeted in Iraq? The UN isnt considered in Iraq as a helpful apolitical organization. Believe it or not but UN policies vis-à-vis Iraq are considered by Iraqis and in a certain extend the Islamic world as hostile. Memories of the sanctions imposed on Iraq in the ninetys that resulted in the death of 500 000 Iraqi children are still fresh. To pretend that the UN has the best interests of Iraq at heart is simply not true.
