I'm bit older than most here... and I was about 15 the first time I heard the Faces. Marriot is a great rock singer and always has been. Their sound is very raw and great! Something that is hardly ever mentioned about the Faces (in the very early days) is that they were leaders in "fashion". Looking at the old clips and pics it makes me wonder today, but it was true then.

I love this song - but man, does it have some seriously lame lyrics. "We went some place, I don't know. Sha la la la lee." lol. Marriott could have sung the phone book and it would have sounded good.

The Small Faces had a raw energy that really came out when they performed any song live. Though it is a catchy pop song, this remains my favorite song of theirs. That said, the live versions which are all over You Tube are much better than the studio one precisely because they capture the energy of a Small Faces live performance.

This BBC version actually sounds less "bubblegummy" than the official release.

Maybe that's what the Small Faces didn't like about it. Even if they didn't like it, it's STILL good!
