I really like what you trying to do here but this is way off. The story is wrong and the fact that they were gay is not likely. Achilles was never made immortal in the styx like its believed today. He was already half god and that's why he was so invincible. Also Paris didn't kill him. Achilles died by being stabbed in the back side by Polyxena. He never even went in the wooden horse. But I disagree with your view that the story is "wrong." It is one of many stories that can be written about Achilles and Patroclus based on _selected_ ancient sources. These did not all agree with each other, and we chose to tell this story because it works and it is powerful and it respects the sources that it does use.

I understand but the version that is told today is not the same as the Ancient version. That's the point I was trying to make. Of course there's many variations of the myth, that occurs in many Greek myths, but the oldest one is always the right one because it's the earliest. The details of the myth don't necessarily change the story though.
