@TurkishNationalism Excuse me, but there is a gay history website with a section titled "Turkish homosexual art". Old stuff, from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. There are a few from the "Hubanname – The Book of Beauties" showing beautiful boys, and a couple of "Dancing Köçeks," dancing boys very much in the style of the Bacha Bazi tradition in Afghanistan, and there is one more work, titled "Spilling the Wine" that speaks for itself. So what are you talking about???
lol man i thing u are very bastard and very gay .if u are gay on ancient greek u lose the right to be a citizen .so what the fuck u tell now bastard.???????????????????
@karvounor Last I looked all the great men in ancient Greece had boyfriends (eromenoi, or eromenos in the singular), like Alexander the Great, and Solon, and Pisistratus, and Herodotus, and Socrates of course, and Plato, and Aristotle, and Demosthenes, and Timarchus, and Sophocles, and so on. We know the names of the boys, and we have stories about them. So what are you talking about???
"That of godly fear, and that of love of honour, and that which is desirous of fair forms of soul, not fair bodies. The things I now mention are, perhaps, like the visionary ideals in a story; yet in very truth, if only they were realised, they would prove a great blessing in every State. Possibly, should God so grant, we might forcibly effect one of two things in this matter of sex-relations,
- either that no one should venture to touch any of the noble and freeborn save his own wedded wife, nor sow any unholy and bastard seed in fornication, nor any unnatural and barren seed in sodomy, - or else we should entirely abolish love for males, and in regard to that for women, if we enact a law that any man who has intercourse with any women save those who have been brought to his house under the sanction of Heaven and holy marriage,
whether purchased or otherwise acquired, if detected in such intercourse by any man or woman, shall be disqualified from any civic commendation, as being really an alien, -- probably such a law would be approved as right. So let this law -- whether we ought to call it one law or two -- be laid down concerning sexual commerce and love affairs in general, as regards right and wrong conduct in our mutual intercourse due to these desires."
You should be more carefull and when accuse someone for being a lier you need to present evidence and not the mainstream "historians" that need to get paid and take funds for "research", a seat in a University etc
You (and them) fail to answer simple questions like:
WHY homosexuals (a 19th century word) were called Kinaidoi in a "gay friendly society"?
WHY there no drama's for gay love?
WHY there were 3-10gay myths (among thousands) and those had a negative meaning?
When Robin Lane Fox (Historian-advisor of Oliver Stone's "Alexander") was asked to present the sources for the "relationship" of Alexander the Great with Hefaistion he said "I have none but I know that"!!
Same thing with Achiles and Patroclos, Homer said nothing but gay "KONWS" about their lives...
Whenever a one confronts them he's accused for racism as if TRUTH has a political view!
That's the "evidence" about the 5%-8% of homosexual ancient Greeks that magically became a gay society!
"I know," I said; "you've got, or once had, a boy friend like that. And I agree with you. But tell me: does excessive pleasure go with self-control and moderation?"
"Certainly not, excessive pleasure breaks down one's control just as much as excessive pain."
"That was precisely the reason why I stated that in reference to this law I know of a device for making a natural use of reproductive intercourse, on the one hand, by abstaining from the male and not slaying of set purpose the human stock, nor sowing seed on rocks and stones where it can never take root and have fruitful increase; [839] and, on the other hand, by abstaining from every female field in which you would not desire the seed to spring up."
"I want, Kallias, to prove to you on the basis of the mythology that not only people but also the gods and heroes prefer the friendship of the soul rather than body. Because Zeus with every mortal woman fall in love through the beauty of form, having been covered with them leave to remain mortal
But those ones that love their souls he made Immortals,(Hercules,Dioscuri & others).
And I do not say that Ganymede raised by Zeus at Olympus, not for the sake of the body, but for the sake of his soul."
The "new Homers", in a pink dress and high heels, rewritting the sexual history of the world, according their imagination!
Achiles the "gay" that fight with Agamemnon for a woman slave that was reassured by Patroclos that she would make a beautiful wife for Achilles in Phtia!
Yeh, that is usual what gays make!
Poor Achiles tornmented by sick and perverted fantasies, even in Hades, there is no escape from Kinaidoi!
There is no slander but in your interpretation. There was nothing wrong about loving men and having sex with men in the ancient times. Only Christianity has made honorable things likle the gay love appear unusual. In fact even the celtic men used to sleep every night not just with a single boy, but with two!
@48acar19 Amazing information, straight out of Boswell's fiction!
Yeah, Jesus and the Apostoles were lovers too!LFMAO
It cannot be easy being you, and I can understand your frustation, but acting like the Aesopian tailess fox, isn't gonna make it neither real nor normal as hard as you re-writte "history"!
Why the "gay Greeks" had ONLY slanders for gay people and mocked them in comedies?
Hell even there language described you as kinaidoi=shameless or marikas=jumbers or evryproktoi=broad assed?
Whatever you are doing here is tantamaount to negating the ancient Greece.
In fact you are describing yourself as a racist. Ancient Greeks were no racists!
You are mentioning here Aisopos: he was not a "native Hellene"!
Te ancient Greek spirit included all the forms of love, from pederasty, to intersex love, and even the gay love as we understand it today. Read at least Plato, if you are not able to read the Pallatine Anthology (Anthologia Graeca) or Xenophon, or others.
@48acar19 I have read Plato,Xenophon,Thucicides, and other classic authors my imbicile friend, but I avoid to read decadent Graeculus ROMAN authors like Straton of Sardis, Diogenes Laertious etc that are doing EXACTLY the same thing with you (and Boswell's school): Justifying their way of life by re-writting the past as a moronic excuse!
Greeks were racists to there core and the whole world were divided to "Hellenes Vs Barbarians", they were far from the tolerated people you IMAGINE!!
More than that, read "The life of the philosophers" by Diogenes Laertios, to understand that all kind of love was honored in the Ancient Greece, including what we call today "gay love" but not only that!
And please don't put Yehoshua Ben Yoseph (alias Jesus) in your gulash, because unlike the life of Sokrates, Jesus's life is not independently corrborated by others!
Your understanding of things is really childish! As your political propensities!
I would be glad if you would be tired by your own lies, not by Plato!
Yes, there were all kind of sexual practices in the Ancient Greece. Yes under some circumstances the passive males were teased. No, they were not "condamned to death as it happened when the "zealots of love" conquered the political power under the emperor Constantine.
I still don't quite understand why do you want to deny the homosexual relations tn the Ancient Greece?
"And the Spartans, who believe that only if one lust the young man's body will fail and nothing good and honest will ever acomplish, so very inocent (agathoi) are the erastes so if they stand and fight, both among Spartans and with foreigners, the erastes are ashamed to leave their comrades.
Because they regard as Godess Aidos (Shame) and not Anaideian (Βrazeness)."
That's why Homosexuals called Kinaidoi: Those who drives godess Aido away- Shameless!
Only a few years ago the Greek Associations of Lawyers have declared that they would sue the movie about Alexander and Hefaistion (where these two heroes have been presented as lovers, as it was true). On that occasion CNN has invited the most well know modern Greek historian and they have asked him about this incident.
(I would bet you don't know not even his name!).
"The modern Greeks are just liars" he said! "They want to change the history!"
@shockolanu quit fucking generalizing gays are fucking possesed by demons this isnt something americans made up this comes from the bible athiest like you who do not understand that are blind and you are a freemason

I really like what you trying to do here but this is way off. The story is wrong and the fact that they were gay is not likely. Achilles was never made immortal in the styx like its believed today. He was already half god and that's why he was so invincible. Also Paris didn't kill him. Achilles died by being stabbed in the back side by Polyxena. He never even went in the wooden horse. Oh most definitely Gay kenster112. The love between men was a gift from Phanes Eros Protogonus and the highest form of love between any two humans. The Greeks of today may deny the facts of their history, but that does not change the facts, it simply means that your ancestors were superior humans and more favored by the Gods.
dude trust me I know. The point I was trying to make is that the story was off, about the way he died and him being bathed in Stygian water. I said bisexual because he was bisexual. He already had a son before he left for troy who was an adult. At troy he had girlfriends. The whole dispute over Achilles refusing to fight was because Agamemnon stole Crysius (Trojan woman) from him. That being said he obviously had a taste for women. That's what I meant by bisexual.
We are using the word "gay" in a very inclusive way since Achilles was depicted by the Greeks as having relationships with females and males (and not only with Patroclus). But I disagree with your view that the story is "wrong." It is one of many stories that can be written about Achilles and Patroclus based on _selected_ ancient sources. These did not all agree with each other, and we chose to tell this story because it works and it is powerful and it respects the sources that it does use.
I understand but the version that is told today is not the same as the Ancient version. That's the point I was trying to make. Of course there's many variations of the myth, that occurs in many Greek myths, but the oldest one is always the right one because it's the earliest. The details of the myth don't necessarily change the story though.
@kenster112 Agememnon stole Briseis, because he had to return Chryseis to the Greeks, lol. Yeah, Achilles was straight up bi: him and Patroclus were totally fucking, but Achilles was also screwing Briseis and other girls, lol^.^

For they see, hear, and understand their own souls.

Ignorance is for those who hide from the facts.
