Simply because people who aren't as you say, prefer to have a phone that has better call quality, better battery life, and not to mention better networks with more options. That doesn't change the fact that the iPhone is a joke. You can tether without restrictions, you can do EVERYTHING the iPhone can, and CAN'T and there are MANY things that the iPhone cannot do.
