@aklane666 The barrel angles up because it is free floating, and when fired does not contact the slide to keep the harmonic of the barrel predictable, so it hits the same spot all the time. Most semi automatic weapons operate that way. The feed ramp will load the next round without any tilting.
The Croatian pistol known as the XD is just a silly ass pistol. 3 safties really Springfield? An internal safety is all that is required, external safeties drive up costs and get people killed. Learn to index or just stay away from guns all together.
I chose you instead of miss beretta, it was love at first sight, I love running my fingers through your extensions. I remembered when i holded you and put my finger on you and popped you. I love you my Springfield XD-40
I shot the XD .40 for the first time the other day and I was highly impressed with the gun. I am a novice hand gun shooter and I was dotting some i's with that gun anywhere from 15-25 yards. I shot 100 rounds and then switched over to the Smith and Wesson M&P .40. The S&W felt cheap and I shot it very poorly compared to the Springfield. Shot 50 rounds and went back to the Springfield. Shot another 50 with the Springfield and was convinced that will be the next gun I buy.
in the vid, the 45 tactical had a 10 round mag... but i own a 45 tactical and its a full 13 round mag(flush no ext sleeve).... did i miss something? or do the tacticals SIMPLY come in 2 sizes of grip length? nice vid!
I just bought my first handgun - an XD9 compact. I pick it up next week. From my research I found that most striker autos are single action not double action.
The XD9 is SINGLE action not a double because it will fire only after you have racked the slide or the action of the gun racks the slide. So the trigger is always performing a single action only.
Good Vid I carry a Glock but one of your Officers just got an XD 9mm & I liked it, I love the safety on the handle like the old 1911's we going out to the range next week & I'm going to give it try, good vid again!!!
@delandgixxer750 I was issued a Glock 22 when I started out but I opted to carry my own XD .40 cal. I had to pull alot of strings but it was definately worth it.
How would you compare the grip/feel and the recoil between the XD tactical 5 inch barrel in 40s&w to the Glock 22? And how would you compare the grip/feel and recoil between the XD tactical 5 inch barrel in .45ACP to the Glock 21 SF?
Of the following which would you recommend for home defense/shooting range, target practice gun.... XD tactical with 5 inch barrel chambered in .40s&w..... or XD tactical with 5 inch barrel chambered in .45ACP.... or (curve ball) Glock 20 SF, chambered in 10mm. Your advice would help me out a lot bro. Thanks
I though these were a hammerless single action only pistol. Gunsmith I just saw stated that working the slide fully cocks the sear. The only thing the trigger does is release the sear.

I have the Springfield 40 cal its great and i love it, its great for conceal carry during the cold weather because of layered clothing but I'm looking for something to carry when it gets warmer, so would you recommend the subcompact for CC? (oh yea i have freakishly large hands!) Any suggestions?
@RonGizzle09 I just recently bought the XD9 Subcompact for a CC weapon. Don't know if you were considering the XD40 only, but the XD9 is very manageable with the shorter 13rd mag, and handles like a full size XD with the extended 16rd mag. I have large hands and am able to shoot just as accurate with the shorter mag. With short 13rd mag, shot 15ft, 10rd rapid fire (in less than 10secs) from the holster, and had a 5in group.
@Wishiculd hey, i'm also not happy, cause they are branded as springfield, but are designed and made in croatia, by a croatian company. from my point of view it's a shame that a decent gun is more famous then the company that makes it...
I am glad you showed the XD's but I am bothered that you didn't do it justice. The XDm is not the new version, it is the premium version. It has contoured grip, exchangeable molded back-strap, and a match grade barrel. One visit to their site will show its a different line and not a replacement.
Also for the thumb safety question that is a favorite: They do offer a thumb safety (which would make a third safety overall incl. trigger and grip) in the 4"&5" XD, and the 4.5" XDm. Sorry to vent.
Geeez!....one of the best videos on Youtube....PERIOD. let alone a firearm review. You just sold millions of dollars worth of XDs for Springfield. I hope they appreciate that.
I don't wanna go all patriotic and stuff, but I am so happy to see that one croatian product is actually known, and praised in USA. I think that XD, or HS2000, as we call it in Croatia, is one beautifull pistol and I can't wait to shoot it one time.... (Such a shame that gun laws in Croatia are much stricter than those in USA)
@MMarcan14 Springfield, known name as importer for US market, that is main reason that HS2000 or SA XD , never mind, is being sold much more than Serbian "Zastava EZ9", imported to US by EAA corp. The thing is that most of people think that XD is gun made by Springfield and not by HS Produkt from Croatia. Anyway it is awesome looking gun but as U said US gun laws allow people to have so much weapon and here in Serbia and Croatia, damn, it is so fu*king hard to get license even for just one gun.

@GunWebsites - The ONLY thing I can think of is the middle finger point @ :13 ? Other than that I have no idea what the guy is posting about lost credibility. @ :10 looked like a safety check unless this guy is biased and saw the Glock @ :10. I would say it's safe to call him a fan boy, faggot, nerd.. whatever you decide..
The XD is inferior in quality/reliability to the Glock.Springfield Armory is very good at marketing however it does not have a proven track record like Glock.NYPD was testing the XD but reports it was having problems holding up to Police use so it can't be approved for use.
@boostimalaka1 Firstly, Springfield has been around a LOT longer than Glock and has a great track record of quality guns, although not specifically in Handguns. If you see the Springfield name on it, you can bet it's quality.
And to speak for the reliability, google "Springfield XD 20,000 round torture test. The XD's reliability speaks for itself.
@booya155 Not the original Springfield Armory that made the rifles it's a different company.Fact Springfield does not make guns, The XD is made in Croatia.XD is having some reliability issues but that's expected when thousands of rounds are fired.Customer service is good The XDM is an improved version.
@boostimalaka1 You're actually right about the Springfield armory, I stand corrected. Although, the modern armory still does have an excellent record for quality and customer service. And again, you should really check out the torture test. The XD is comparable to the glock in many of it's features/capabilities but is cheaper and comes with more accessories. Many people pick one over the other but it's all personal preference.
@booya155 I won't say the XD is cheaper than a Glock. If you're looking at the holster with magazine they both cost under $40 USD.Springfield is good at marketing like Front Site who BTW are offering the XD as part of the 5 day course package.I prefer a quality holster .The XDM is an improved gun I just prefer the Glock because it's easier to conceal with less muzzle flip. The XD & XDM has a high bore axis which in test proved less accurate in follow up shots.
@boostimalaka1 The XD has compact versions but you're right, it's all up to preference. I've fired both and think they're too close to definitely say one is better than the other, everyone is different and everyone has their preference. I personally prefer the trigger pull on the XD to that of the Glock, and that means enough to me that I bought an XD instead.
@booya155 BTW the XDM has a nicer trigger ,just that my feeling is that the Glock has worked on duty without fail.It has a proven track record with me and LE.The XD has not.LE hasn't given the XD the ok.The testing done by NYPD proved it was not reliable to daily police work.In all fairness the XD is a good civilian weapon just not up to LE standards.
@boostimalaka1 well just cause a police department does not issue a certain gun does not mean that it sucks. I've put more than 2,000 rounds through my xdm9 and not a single malfunction. I would like to know what specifically is inferior in quality and reliability? Its frame is polymer and slide is steel like the glock., has the same trigger safety like the glock....
@vash241987 I have said the XD is a good gun for civilian use.Law Enforcement hasn't embraced the XD mainly because it was prone to sights falling out and other issues. The XDM is an improved version, jams were happening on the XD because the rear frame rails were getting chewed up.Not saying it's a bad gun.Just not a proven track record. The XDM is a better gun just that the price is higher than the Glock. The XD finish is terrible prone to rust that is a big problem they need to fix.
@boostimalaka1 I've had mine over a year now. 1500 rounds later, I have had no problems.. But that doesn't mean they are flawless. But the xdm is a must buy.. As far as the Glock XD battle... It depends on the shooter. They are like a 5ft and 6ft blonde.. Take your effin pick and bang em out:-)
Also, the rails on the side of the box and the mag pouch are very useful for laser and tac lights. This way you can keep your accesories with your gun but still have the gun fit in the original case.
im not sure if anybody had mentioned this before, but the xd is actually single action. The striker is held completely back and released by the trigger/sear, where as in a glock the striker is held half way and the trigger/sear complete the retraction of the striker before releasing, aka double action.

i have a XD tactical, it has two 13 round magazines, and its one of the old styles, i wanna know if i just got lucky with the mags cap, and also i absolutely love it, mine is accurate to about 25 to 30 or so yards
i have a xdm40,its one of those things that when they came out i just HAD to have one and it is a quality weapon in every way.but then i made the mistake of picking up a g19,now its my "newest and most best gun".....will it ever end!
@grizz474 well when ever you get a new gun its way better than the rest cause its new! Lol I felt the same way when I got my glock 21 second gen, I still love my xd 40 4inch and my xd40 subcom, but I carry em on duty. If I could afford it id buy a usp compact or a sig fullsize
@SnakeDude2000 I love Sigs, but, if i were to shoot someone and they take away my pistol that i shot with, i would be willing to give up my XD or my Glock 21, no so willing to for Sig or HK
At first I was like "how could they take your gun if you just shot them?".. but then I got what you are saying.. I agree.. there are tools, and then there are items you take pride in owning
@grizz474 I actually don't own hk or sig, not willing to shell out the cash, I could get 2 glocks for an hk or 2 xds for a sig. I actually own a glock and 2 xds. I know glock fans will rag on me for it, saying xd is a rip off of glock, but glock is a rip off of hk, so don't rag on good products people!
@Renta1Cop i try not to rag on different gun designs .truth be told, there are many really good guns out there. i guess it boils down to what a person likes and what there willing to pay.the good thing is there's no shortage of choice
@excelerater I've had the hd 40 sub, great gun, feels really good in the hand. It's a little bigger than the glock, a little taller and a little more grip.what can you say about the glock its proven its lighter and they fire without fail .....every time !
I can safely say at this point that an XDm will be my first handgun. I've shot two Sigs, an H&K, a 1911, a .38 smith, 5 different glocks, and a handful of .22s, and in my hands the XD fits better and shoots smoother than any of them. Throw that in with the fact you get two 19 round mags and a holster right off the bat, and this is a no-brainer for under $650.
I think you mean single action only

@GunWebsites - The ONLY thing I can think of is the middle finger point @ :13 ? Other than that I have no idea what the guy is posting about lost credibility. @ :10 looked like a safety check unless this guy is biased and saw the Glock @ :10. I would say it's safe to call him a fan boy, faggot, nerd.. whatever you decide..

The XD is inferior in quality/reliability to the Glock.Springfield Armory is very good at marketing however it does not have a proven track record like Glock.NYPD was testing the XD but reports it was having problems holding up to Police use so it can't be approved for use.
boostimalaka1 1 year ago
@boostimalaka1 Firstly, Springfield has been around a LOT longer than Glock and has a great track record of quality guns, although not specifically in Handguns. If you see the Springfield name on it, you can bet it's quality.
And to speak for the reliability, google "Springfield XD 20,000 round torture test. The XD's reliability speaks for itself.
booya155 1 year ago
@booya155 Not the original Springfield Armory that made the rifles it's a different company.Fact Springfield does not make guns, The XD is made in Croatia.XD is having some reliability issues but that's expected when thousands of rounds are fired.Customer service is good The XDM is an improved version.
boostimalaka1 1 year ago
@boostimalaka1 You're actually right about the Springfield armory, I stand corrected. Although, the modern armory still does have an excellent record for quality and customer service. And again, you should really check out the torture test. The XD is comparable to the glock in many of it's features/capabilities but is cheaper and comes with more accessories. Many people pick one over the other but it's all personal preference.
booya155 1 year ago
@booya155 I won't say the XD is cheaper than a Glock. If you're looking at the holster with magazine they both cost under $40 USD.Springfield is good at marketing like Front Site who BTW are offering the XD as part of the 5 day course package.I prefer a quality holster .The XDM is an improved gun I just prefer the Glock because it's easier to conceal with less muzzle flip. The XD & XDM has a high bore axis which in test proved less accurate in follow up shots.
boostimalaka1 1 year ago
@boostimalaka1 The XD has compact versions but you're right, it's all up to preference. I've fired both and think they're too close to definitely say one is better than the other, everyone is different and everyone has their preference. I personally prefer the trigger pull on the XD to that of the Glock, and that means enough to me that I bought an XD instead.
booya155 1 year ago
@booya155 BTW the XDM has a nicer trigger ,just that my feeling is that the Glock has worked on duty without fail.It has a proven track record with me and LE.The XD has not.LE hasn't given the XD the ok.The testing done by NYPD proved it was not reliable to daily police work.In all fairness the XD is a good civilian weapon just not up to LE standards.
boostimalaka1 1 year ago
@boostimalaka1 well just cause a police department does not issue a certain gun does not mean that it sucks. I've put more than 2,000 rounds through my xdm9 and not a single malfunction. I would like to know what specifically is inferior in quality and reliability? Its frame is polymer and slide is steel like the glock., has the same trigger safety like the glock....
vash241987 1 year ago
@vash241987 I have said the XD is a good gun for civilian use.Law Enforcement hasn't embraced the XD mainly because it was prone to sights falling out and other issues. The XDM is an improved version, jams were happening on the XD because the rear frame rails were getting chewed up.Not saying it's a bad gun.Just not a proven track record. The XDM is a better gun just that the price is higher than the Glock. The XD finish is terrible prone to rust that is a big problem they need to fix.
boostimalaka1 1 year ago

The striker is held completely back and released by the trigger/sear, where as in a glock the striker is held half way and the trigger/sear complete the retraction of the striker before releasing, aka double action.

i have a XD tactical, it has two 13 round magazines, and its one of the old styles, i wanna know if i just got lucky with the mags cap, and also i absolutely love it, mine is accurate to about 25 to 30 or so yards

i have a xdm40,its one of those things that when they came out i just HAD to have one and it is a quality weapon in every way.but then i made the mistake of picking up a g19,now its my "newest and most best gun".....will it ever end!
grizz474 1 year ago
@grizz474 well when ever you get a new gun its way better than the rest cause its new! Lol I felt the same way when I got my glock 21 second gen, I still love my xd 40 4inch and my xd40 subcom, but I carry em on duty. If I could afford it id buy a usp compact or a sig fullsize

nice video but i have to say would go for a sig or even a glock anyday over the xd
SnakeDude2000 1 year ago
@SnakeDude2000 I love Sigs, but, if i were to shoot someone and they take away my pistol that i shot with, i would be willing to give up my XD or my Glock 21, no so willing to for Sig or HK

At first I was like "how could they take your gun if you just shot them?".. but then I got what you are saying.. I agree.. there are tools, and then there are items you take pride in owning

airsoftloverusp 1 year ago
@Renta1Cop thats because you overpaid way to much for the sig........they are nice guns though........just overpriced.
grizz474 1 year ago
@grizz474 I actually don't own hk or sig, not willing to shell out the cash, I could get 2 glocks for an hk or 2 xds for a sig. I actually own a glock and 2 xds. I know glock fans will rag on me for it, saying xd is a rip off of glock, but glock is a rip off of hk, so don't rag on good products people!
Renta1Cop 1 year ago
@Renta1Cop i try not to rag on different gun designs .truth be told, there are many really good guns out there. i guess it boils down to what a person likes and what there willing to pay.the good thing is there's no shortage of choice

I am looking at buying an XD 40 Sub or a Glock 27.......I like them both......May have to buy both
excelerater 1 year ago
@excelerater I've had the hd 40 sub, great gun, feels really good in the hand. It's a little bigger than the glock, a little taller and a little more grip.what can you say about the glock its proven its lighter and they fire without fail .....every time !

sebo24197 1 year ago
I can safely say at this point that an XDm will be my first handgun. I've shot two Sigs, an H&K, a 1911, a .38 smith, 5 different glocks, and a handful of .22s, and in my hands the XD fits better and shoots smoother than any of them. Throw that in with the fact you get two 19 round mags and a holster right off the bat, and this is a no-brainer for under $650.
Physicbuddha 1 year ago
I like them, ultra tought but the pistol grip is very stout and straight, which I haven't tried before,so I must adjust.
