yes a man willing to be incarcerated for his lover is a sign of true love and he does that in the presence of alll the esteemed and his wife who he obviously does not love..he was forced into that marriage and I especially acknowledged the part whwere she called al Venetian women witches cause forced marriage isas much a sin as the promiscuity of the cortisans.

The scene was priceless! Pretty hypocritical for the inquisition to condemn a woman as a witch , while all of those men went to her freely...they weren't under any spell. Typical: the men do the 'evil', the women are condemned for it...

At that time was very difficult for a woman to tell the truth about sexual life and sexual behavior. She could risk to be guilty for witchery and madness. Veronic has guts, she's great. Catherine Mc Cormack is a great actress indeed

I love dangerous beauty, i could literally quote the whole movie, i really wanna know if there is anywhere that i can buy a book of poems by veronica? I know u couldn't find such a thing at borders or amazon, and i'm not even sure now if that was her real name but i really want to read the book that the movie was based on but i can't remember exactly what its called...

Veronica Franco was her name, and I think the book is called "The Honest Courtesan". Veronica's poems are available online, you just have to look for them. Hope you can read Italian, though. ;-)

I'm a great cinema admirer, I have seen a lot of films about the truest love, but "DB" is terrific, outstanding... And this scene... I just don't have words to say... Catherine McCormack and Rufus Sewell should have won Oscars for their portroyals. They are outstanding actors!
