  • Great phone.. just bought mine from uniqbe.com

  • Nice review but Windows phones are made by Microsoft and have windows based OS on them which is fail. Sorry and the phone looks ugly and the faults you mentioned were enough to turn me away from this phone. Still Nokia usually makes great phones for budget minded users.

  • does it support tethering ?

  • Good review, thanks

  • I don't understand why Nokia doesn't release their higher end phones for U.S carriers. I wouldn't get this phone if I could get Samsung Galaxy S2. I want the option to get the higher end Nokia phones :-(

  • @bedevere007 It's usually up to the carriers which phones they want to carry. AT&T will have the Lumia 900 which is a higher end phone.

  • If Microsoft is not going to integrate Skype into Mango

    , it's a NO buy from me.

  • @iamgangster Mango is already out; their going to intergrate it in either the near tango update or in the upcoming apollo update

  • @dargis49 I totally agree with you.

  • One ugly phone.

  • does the dial pad not show/load contacts as you type?

  • In depth review!. Is it better than samsung omnia w ?

  • @MobileTechReview What would you recommend between the Lumia 710, HTC Radar and Omnia W?

  • @rafaboy1 Either the Radar or the Lumia.

  • Whoever actually owns this phone: is it nice? I can upgrade my other Nokia phone(I've had Nokia phones since my first tracfone lol) for this for $20 and i think for my first smartphone this would be a nice fit?

  • You said it has a micro-sim card slot, I can assume a normal sim card won't be able to be used? Because I'm just upgrading my phone and I'm not sure if they will be mailing a micro-sim card or not. But let me know if I can use my normal sim card

  • @megamonkey

You can use your normal sim, but you have to cut the card youself to fit the micro-sim slot. Find instructions from Google and don't blaim me if you ruin the sim. :)

  • the interface quite boring

  • is it possible to use navigation offline like the old nokias?

  • Hi can I ask how good is the internet on this phone as I need s smart phone that does not break the bank but is good at web surfing

  • How is this phone with texting?

  • Nokia should really continue with MeeGo!

  • Hi guys! John V. here from PhoneArena. Just wanna say that this review is good and indeed informative. Kinda' persuasive too. :)))

  • poor nokia, they used to be the leader of smartphones and now they are just not worth it :( comon; windows mobile? why not android as the primary os? nokia, from now on you will only fail

  • "All T-Mobile 4G smartphones are free on February 11th"

And I just missed an opportunity to get a Galaxy. Oh well, hopefully the Lumia I JUST bought is good.

  • why do people care about veiwing angles who looks at there phone from a 180 degree angle

  • can you get wifi with this phone

  • great review on the 710 man.. we take a look at this on our channel be sure to check it out.

  • Another GREAT review by Lisa, the best smartphone reviewer BY FAR.

    Greetings from Ecuador South-America.

  • is the 900 coming to tmobile?

  • so its not android?

  • hi guys ,,i am stuck with a problem now ...when i connect to windows market place with wifi ,,it aint downloading ,,it shows windows cant connect to marketplace now ,but it works cellular data ........plz help......!!!!!!!!!!

  • @CRYP2ON8 And your Wi-Fi works when you use the web browser?

  • Lumia 710 is $254.99 w/o contract at Rogers (and of course less w/contract)! I just bought it outright, really liking this phone, now thinking about switching to Wind.

  • @MarkSien Very, very tempted at buying this outright as well. Even though the 900 is coming out in 3 months, the 710 gives me everything I need/want. I think I can sacrifice no front-facing camera, 0.3" larger screen and Rogers' pricey LTE plans.

  • Good review!

  • @maheeinfy13 Thank you! Please share with friends. Thanks! :)

  • This or the Radar 4G? (:

  • @RosalesMarcus I'd say Lumia 710 cos of the 1.4ghz processor, I got the Radar and I'm quite disappointed, the 1ghz is smooth enough but not as smooth as the 710 when running games, but the metal body on the Radar is big thumbs up compared to the 710. So it's up to you :) I'll be changing to the Lumia 900 when it comes out.

  • kindly show the interface with appps..just talking too much.....it s quite boring........

  • Good to know that IE mobile lags behind all other browsers just like it's older brother. Wish MS would stop the "good enough" attitude with their browser software. I don't really like the form factor with this phone compared to 800-900 but it's the only WP7 phone TMO offers for prepaid.

  • I ordered it for free, hope its better than my last phones.

  • horrible battery.that's what gsmarena says. is that true?

  • @safwanul447 Not especially bad in our tests.

  • panzy smilee at 00:20

  • its 49.99 on a 2 year contracts, still beats 3 year contracts in canada=(

  • @saini22505 Wait for it to come to Rogers in february, it'll be around the same price

  • Incoming and out going calls cannot be disconnected in this phone Nokia Lumia 710 for better status see no of people commented on Nokia .com website

  • Comment removed

  • Hey guys, dont worry about the small 8gb if internal memory, download an app called "SkyDrive", which gives you a 25gb cloud storage (:

  • thanks, helped a bunch in choosing a cheap windows phone, bought it and i love it, highly recommend!

  • I was about to get this or the radar but decided to wait till march when the 900 comes out :) can't wait to get the 900!!

  • It's not just $49. Thats what t-mobile calls the down payment. You still pay $15 a month for the 2 year contract on the phone. Bringing the total to around $400 for the phone! look into it!

  • Nokia 710 is not a good phone and Many problems in it Like incoming and outgoing calls not getting disconected . and not a worthy phone . And my suggestion to you ll please do not purchase this phone . this phone will spoil the name of nokia .

  • Hah! Got an ad for the Lumia 710 before the video started.

  • I got this phone the day it was released, and so far I haven't had any problems with it at all. The design and performance is (obviously) way better than the nuron and Xpress Music, which were my past phones. Why didn't I go with the HTC Radar? Simply because there is no place to put cell phone straps. If Nokia stops adding this feature, I may switch to a different company (though I'm probably the only one who even cares about this).

  • @nuigurumisama Does this phone have the same type of touch screen as the nuron or is it like the iphone?

  • @cocoasugar07 It's like the iPhone.

  • do you think Nokia will bring the 800 to the US?

  • Thanks Lisa !! Should I get the HTC radar or Nokia Lumina or should I wait for a higher windows phone.

  • @ccrevecoeur If you are from US u should wait for nokia lumia 900 ace :)

  • @Hauserdav Thanks !!!

  • is the memory expandable?

  • i have this phone after switching from ios. I had i phone for 2 years.. and well I needed a little change.. this phone is amazing for the buck, and nokia maps just enough said.. mango os is amazing.. give it a try.

  • Comment removed

  • For $49 this is an amazing phone. The Nokia Drive application alone is probably worth it. Nokia is also going to get 27 EA games exclusive for 6 months.

  • does this phone have Wi-Fi?

  • @XD0777 yep ofc

  • 49 dollars?? it costs 270 euros in finland

  • @sweetblackstarx that 49 comes with a commitment of course, that how carriers do it in North America. i would never fall for that again.

  • oh gosh, i'm so sorry to say that, but you're speaking too much... you could upload a link to an mp3, that would be just like this...

  • @matchboxrider You think she spoke too much, in a review? I have to disagree. There's a lot to know about a phone and her job to present the device to people that might not know anything about it. She has to cover every detail in order to be considered good at her job. Do you think news reporters talk too much?

  • @Ryantravisaol presenting does not mean that you just hold that phone and speak... show us how it works, how smooth is that... the speaking is the last that nerves me, the "i hold this thing in my hand and i roll it, but don't show anything" is the biggest problem..

  • the only selling point of this phone is that it's a reasonably-priced WP7 device. i don't mind 8GB of storage because the most i'll do with it is take pics to share. but if this doesn't have wifi-tethering (which looks like it doesn't), i'm better off with a cheap Android like a Samsung Galaxy Y or an LG Optimus Net.

  • @paolylo Windows Phone 7 supports wireless tethering. I've been using a WP7 device for 14 months now and even it has the hotspot technology, I'm surprised that Lisa didn't say anything about it. The greatest thing about a Windows Phone device is that everything ALWAYS works, unlike Android that will Force Close or need a battery pull. Before you settle for something, really make an informed buy and go with iOS or WP7.

  • @Ryantravisaol read again what i posted. i'm not talking about WP7 devices in general. of course i know they're capable. i am specifically talking about "this phone". this Nokia Lumia 710. for that matter (lacking hotspot technology) even the Lumia 800. why do you think Nokia made amends with the Lumia 900? before you even reply to something, really consider why i even bothered to watch this review.

why will i even buy this phone when it doesn't have the feature i specifically need?

  • @Ryantravisaol it's this simple: i will buy this phone if it readily has wifi-tethering. otherwise, i would have wasted money buying it when i could have bought a much cheaper Samsung or LG (to hell with HTC, even the Radar is expensive) if i desperately needed a wifi hotspot phone right now.

i'm a fan of the Zune (still have my 30 GB device in good condition) and it would be nice to have my XBox Live Avatar on my phone. where i'm from, having 2 phones from different carriers is normal.

  • @paolylo why such angst? I'm sure if you and I were talking in person, you would not correct my misinterpretation with such a rude and pugnacious attitude. Listen, we're all human and we're all guilty of mistakes, even you, so please try to make it a habit to speak with respect. I'm sure you understand that if you deserve respect, so do others. Arguing has become the YouTube way and there's no excuse for it. We're all adults with the capacity to be respectful of one another. Thank You.

  • @Ryantravisaol i may have thought you took me for an idiot (i mean, come on. i know what i want in a WP7 device) so i apologize for that. thanks.

  • @paolylo you can download apps from the marketplace that allow tethering for free

  • @antoniouslj even 2GB is enough. I dont collect Porn.

  • Lisa, are you a designer in real life?

  • Bye Bye android.

  • @ekaulia have fun with your 5 gigs of storage!

  • I kinda want this phone

  • @dyshaun08 I'm also thinking about this phone. What an awesome price for a good device.

  • Super :)

  • Great phone all around if you're new to smart phones or have to budget.

  • What is wrong with Windows phones people need atleast 16 gig on a phone and they have 8 gigs memory on these phones. Two reasons I don't like I phone is the lack of Flash playback and non

upgradeable memory and windows is going in that direction which is disappointing,

  • @lopapapapa yep the only thing stopping me from getting this or the radar is that stupid 8gigs of memory

  • WP7 with LTE on Verizon, I'd be all over it.

  • Nokia Is back

  • Great Review as usual I really appreciate how in-depth you go in these reviews - it's what makes me prefer your reviews over CNET and the like

  • Awesome review as always

  • Is this a 4g phone??

  • @thejesseflorestv It's HSPA+ with HSDPA category 10 on the downlink and HSUPA category 6 on the uplink. Of course, the fact that these HSDPA/HSUPA categories are nothing special at all right now for WCDMA means nothing to T-Mobile, who gladly replaces the “3G” indicator with “4G”.

  • you forgot the changeable back covers!

  • Nice phone, except limited storage makes it pretty much useless to me.

  • I don't see WP7 evolving to much more than what it is right now. The live tiles bore me to death. I've tried the Windows launcher for Android and after a day I get tired of looking at it. Your phone should be more customizable than just changing the color or tiles. 2 year contract for a WP7 device of this caliber just seems absurd. To each his own.

  • I heard that the camera was awful for photos but quite good at video

  • Great video Lisa!~ You have outdone yourself once again in these mobile reviews! :D

  • I like how you guys write up your reviews before you do the video... unlike some reviewers who just talk and talk and talk

  • Great review as always!

(though I believe nokia is pronounced "knock-kia" as opposed to "know-kia" (howjsay.com is one site which confirms this))

  • unboxing and here we already have a review

  • i love the XBOX Live animation :D

  • My biggest gripe with Windows OS is that it doesn't really use all of the screen space effectively.

  • Such good reviews!

  • Lisa <3

    Nokia <3

i loved nokia since my childhood and im still with it :D

    Nokia N9/N8 USER

  • How about the battery life? is it okay?

  • I bet four core android phones won't be as fluid as this one. Still I would a bit rather go for Android. But Windows Phone 7 is definitely getting there.

  • Great review as usual!

  • $49 a month or is that the retail price?!?! In Australia with $49 you wouldnt even get a nokia 3210!

  • @Malangsufi lol. it's probably the price of the phone with plan. which means you have to pay a certain amt every month until the plan finishes. most plans are for 2 years.

  • @Malangsufi $49 as a one time payment, but you have to be under contract for 2 years with T-Mobile.

  • Hey Lisa, I like The Pretenders too. Always have.

  • Lisa thx again for another great review !!

  • I've been waiting so long for this phone to come out.

  • i don't really understand what the appeal of this phone is ... at all.

  • @g1981c It's cheap and well-specced for an entry level handset.

  • @g1981c budget phone. the design is obviously worse tthan Nokia Lumia 800, but for the specs given the price, it's almost unbeatable.

  • @MobileTechReview my mistake.

  • Awesome video as usual. Thank you for your insights!

  • @chlehqls Thank you!

  • @MobileTechReview does it freeze alot

  • Lisa from Mobile Tech and Michael Oryl from Mobile Burn are probably two of the most "zen" reviewers are youtube. You guys really explain thoroughly and with detail! Thanks for all your contribution Lisa!

  • @krazygreen Thanks! :)

  • Ur voice is unique .... Thanx for review :)

  • Are you going to review the Meizu MX???

  • wow a review based on only what 2 or so days?

    wow....

  • @MIjoSaav Actually much longer. ;) Also the phone won't go on sale until Jan 11th.

  • So, personally would someone choose this phone or the HTC Radar (both on T-Mobile)?

  • @ktheninja1 Whichever one you get the better price on, both similar and both have good and bad points

  • @jameslove888 lol thank you, but this is the exact reason why i'm stuck on this lol :P

  • SECOND im sorry i dont have a life

  • hehe
