  • thanks for idea,my dogs adore this game!

  • what a great game! Kathy with Lizzie/Breeze/Cricket

  • What a fun idea. I can't wait to try it out and see how each of my dogs figure out the puzzle :)

  • Want to do this but don't have any tennis balls or any other kind that would work for this. :-(

  • @disturbedme5 you could try crunched up paper, but they should not eat it.

  • That's Nina Ottossons game out the window haha!

  • What a beautiful Australian Cattle Dog! She is very close in appearance to my dog Dallas...well, Dallas does have a couple pounds on her, but seeing the dog in the video is going to be great motivation. We are currently trying to drop a few pounds. Its great to see what she could look like in a few months!!

  • clever!

  • @Mathical40 Same here, Koa and Rocky used their noses to tip it over...>:(

  • Awesome! I love it! Thanks for the video response! I am not sure where I saw it first, but I know that I am not the originator of this fun scent game. Glad you had fun with it! :)

  • Wow, what a great game for mentally stimulating doggies. I'm going to try this out with my pups, thanks!

  • Great vid. More folks should know how much fun it is to play with and interact with their dogs. It all makes for a closer bond and more enjoyable companions.

  • lol i tryd this with my jack russel she just couldn't comprehend thier was somthing underneath it and walked away after a few seconds

  • Trouble shooting......

Eiher use a smellier treat or show your pup that you put something under the ball.

  • i liked the idea of this game, however, when it came to doing it with my dog, after she figured out there is food under the balls, she just swiped the pan with her paw massacring all balls and spreading treats around the floor...much easier.

Its hard to make this situation unrewarding for Daisy and thus is not interested in the sniff - remove ball - eat treat routine.

Any ideas on how to remedy greatly appreciated, she's an 19month Labrador ! =)

  • If the dog turns over the pan, my suggestion would be to fasten the pan to a large board; either with screws or a strong glue.

  • Very good, now it is time to teach the dogs to clean up and put all the ball where they took them from. :-)

  • Thanks! I tried this with all 4 of my guys. It was interesting seeing their different methods! :)

  • Yes, very interesting. I have seen "ball crazy" dog take a ball and run off, never even sniffing for the treats. heehee

  • Cool!

  • Great idea! I have made my own little video for those training service dogs. It's a great tool to teach dogs problem solving! (See video response). Jessie loves it!

  • This is great! I LOVE it! Merry Christmas to my "I must sniff everything" retriever! She'll love this. Thanks for sharing. What a creative and fun game.

  • I found some cheap ones at Deseret Industries.

Let me know what Jake does. Maybe he will go for the treat first?

  • I am off to buy some muffin pans!

This will be a great mental activity for my pack! How much you wanna bet - Jake just takes off with one of the balls? LOL

    thanks for sharing

  • Wow great game.i will have to try it with my dogs.

  • Great game. I'm going to try it. I bet Chase knocks the pan over with his foot as a shortcut. I'll let you know!

  • This is a great idea....cheap and fun. Thank you for sharing it.
