  • I love this!!!!!!

  • Isn't it weird how Dave points his finger at time in the end lol.... like an ostrich hand.

  • Where were they playing?

  • i saw tim rynolds in austin at some little place behind 6th street. it was like acoustic technical death metal. it was so advanced (for lack of a better word) that i don't think most of the audience got it. it was fucking awesom

  • @dqattan Probably.

  • @dqattan i'd love to be polite and tell you that i respect your opinion, but tim is one of the reasons this song is so epic. dave's playing rythym and singing, but tims taking the place of the band..personally, bc tim's one of the most talented guitarists to date, his addition makes the song incredible

  • @dqattan Wrong! Listen to Dave and Tim at Luther College, and then bring forth your opinion.

  • @jacmas Or watch anything at Radio City.

  • Thank You for posting this video, I wish I was I there.

  • Goosebumps

  • This show was amazing. Such a *flawless* setlist, too. I was blessed to be able to be there for such a special thing as a Dave and Tim show.

  • amazing

  • this rendition is amazing!!!....totally reminds me of someone I want to be with right Now!!!....why must we live in separate cities Baby??!!! :-(

  • beyond amazing

  • tim reynolds soloing style is so unique and awesome

  • dave is a big guy. having the right instrument is helpfull. ... .awesome

  • haha love this but Tim's pants are huge!

  • Great - DM is special. Not crazy about recent work but what a talent.

  • recent DMB talent has been so shitty and normal.

  • i bet tim reynolds just jams every time they are doing guitar duets, doesnt know exactly what he'll do before he goes out, he just does it...seems like it anyways and its sweet

  • Love this song.Probably my favorite version of it. Such powerful lyrics.

  • @bmahoney9867 if you like this then lyou've gotta check out Live at radio city.

  • this was played on my bday, what an amazing gift!! life IS sweet for certain:)

  • their simply amazing together

  • how can 2 guys playing guitars and singing sound so much like heaven to me? my heart bursts ......love this so much.

  • I love this song. I only wish I could play like that. Together with the singing it is simply amazing...

  • john ur gay for righting that comment about broken arm dman23229

  • so much power even though its just the two of them, and with Reynolds, NICE!

  • Absolutely great tune.

  • amazing song

  • only dave can get away with switching his lyrics up and making it sound damn good

  • def one of the best versions ive ever heard. i agree that jam at the end is sick

  • Tim Reynolds is one of the most under-rated and unnoticed great guitarists ever!

  • @4rainbowed yeah because dave is so good did u know he is not doing any tours next year im pissed

  • @4rainbowed Thank you!!!!!

  • If you ever get a chance to see Tim play solo, you should go.

  • @4rainbowed And, the really great thing about them, is that they're both really great human beings and humanitarians too. Fame shouldn't mean shit unless the person so blessed financially helps to give back as Dave, Tim and the whole DMB do on a regular basis.

  • i love when tim and dave just jam at the end of songs when they preform on their own...even though with the band is good too.

  • <3<3<3<3<3<3 can't stop listening.

  • what do all those threes mean?

  • suppose to look like a heart

  • sideways of course.

  • Such a Good Song

    Tomas From Argentina

    DMB Forever !

  • I really can't quite get over the jam at the end.. *drools*

  • Two Step is played more than any other song during encores I do believe. My favorite acoustic jam song is Lie In Our Graves though.

  • this song is the best von Dave

  • i used to hate DMB, with a passion. then i heard the intro for the studio version of this song, and i fell in love. i gradually began listening to DMB. now they are one of my two favorite bands ever. heres to dave blowing balls the the walls!

  • how could you hate them in the first place?

  • i didnt like his voice, now i love it. i wish i could sing like him, hahaha.

  • Same here..I didnt like them too much but then I heard this song and I just love this song....now they are in my top bands...

  • Does anyone know how tall Reynolds is? It just seems that whenever the two of them duet, Dave sitting down is just as tall as Tim is standing up.

  • dave´s seat is pretty high

  • Tim is also a little man...

  • this song is pure sex

  • DAve Matthews é o melhor!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I just saw DMB in early June in Detroit at Pine Knob (DTE Music Theater), an outdoor venue. Tim came out and played the whole show; it was beyond fucking incredible. There's a somewhat magical aura surrounding these guys on stage. Jam on, fellas.

  • This is the best band of the moment.

    Luca from Italy

    Love DMB.

  • this is so good it makes me appreciate other music less by comparison

  • was dave with tim before he hand his old band or did he ditch the band or sumin.....either way i love his music

  • theyr old friends.. they both have their own bands but they play together alot

  • theyr old friends.. they both have their own bands but they play together alot

  • Dave actually invited Tim to join DMB but tim was already in TR3 and declined. They remained close friends.

  • And now that Butch is gone Tim got again the chance to keep with DMB. Tour is awesome w/ him, love it so far and its only getting bettet :)

  • TR3 is opening for dmb in cincinnati, im looking forward to it. was it amazing? im just kinda bummed butch left and leroi is injured.

  • leroi

  • Saw DMB in berkley with butch finally gone and timmy back where he belongs. It was sick!

  • These two guys are dawn GREAT!! Dave is the best artist ever.

  • Absolutely Beautiful!

  • LOVE THAT SONG!!!!

  • one of the best song writers of our time, he flows so well with his music. It's melodic perfection

  • He does some great acoustic melodies! I know very little of him, but after seeing Crush and Two Step LIVE I've gotten more and more interested in him. I really like it, how he does new surprising things with live performs turning it up a notch. Waving melodies mixed with intense anger feed for the strings of his guitar. Well progressing middle phases and high pitches, just a great play of sound.

  • i fuckin love this song we climb on two by two to be sure these days continue.....one of my faves love u dave

  • nice...go check out my two step drum cover...peace.

  • id like to watch a video of any of yr songs, coordinating vocals and guitar in such perfect harmony like dave does on "the stone"; not a guitarist? anyone who feels they can criticize others abilities should have a firm base to do so, in that case, id love to hear any of yr records, any of yr songs, whatever, so i (and we) can think you are, at least, giving a review beyond a limited short range vision.

  • dave just has a very unique guitar playing style, their are chords used in his songs, that nobodys ever seen before. If you dont think dave is a "guitar player" than clearly you havent even begun to learn the eccentricities of the instrument.

  • exactly what i've been trying to get through to people but they're like if you don't schred you know which is so overrated anybody can learn to schred but what dave matthews does can't be taught

  • Have you ever seen Dave play Stream? You can't take anything away from Dave he is amazing. But Tim is like a Jesus of guitar hes on a different level.

  • they're jus different kinds of guitarist

  • No i havent ever seen or even heard dave play stream, i am either missing out on a huge preformance, or the rest of the world just believes its a dave song when its a tim reynolds song-tim is a very knowledged guitar palyer, but for me creativity, and the ability to create diverse, soulful and attractive songs will always take the cake in my book. Basically i feel dave is better. People go to see dave w/ reynolds not reynolds with dave. Reynolds a freak show-dave a musical genuis.

  • haha like OMG your like so stubid

  • "like" in which way? By the way congrats on managing to sound like your from the movie clueless with only text.

  • Couldn't understand your comment completely lorusso123, but it sounds like youre saying Dave is better because more people go see him. How can i argue with that logic?

  • Why would you knock Dave? Just check his bank account. Enough said. Obviously people are buying his music and paying for tickets, so something must be right. I've seen him about 10 times. He is great every time.

  • yes dave's songs are hard to sing to while keeping the rythem. it takes me weeks to get the song perfect

  • lol you cannot even understand what i m saying

  • no, its you that doesnt understand. rythmn is its own form of guitar expression, much like the shredding the guitar is. if you were to make a good argument, you wouldn't include steve vai in this discussion b/c he plays lead. what's in discussion here is DAVE'S guitar parts and the lack of rhythmical credit some unqualified people give him.

  • Aaai! i agree with you my friend!I was talking about Tim and Dave as one. Where Tim is "THE" guitar player and Dave is everything. If its about Daves rhythm skills then those that don't give full credit must have a hearing disability. I meant that in essence Dave is not primarily a guitar player so who cares if its complicated parts or not. Tim is a guitar player.

  • shut up dude! your many months late

  • thought so, thats all u have to say... thank you.

  • dave is not a guitarist? lol u must be watching a different video

  • lol you cannot even understand what im saying

  • Dave has a great voice as he sings along his (more or less complicated lol) guitar parts. Tim is a guitarist. Dave is a singer songwriter. TIM+DAVE produce magic to our ears so who cares if a song is easy or not. if you care about difficult guitar parts listen to Petrucci Vai and Malmsteen; they re shredders. Tim is up there with em but Dave is a singer songwriter NOT a guitarist so who cares???

  • excellent

  • nobody on these boards are "breaking" shit to me, i've studied dave's chord vocabulary for years. simple chords are just a part of what he plays and is by no means what he relies on, not to mention his enviable flat picking technique or his uncanny ability to mute any string while in full strum. Does anyone, that blandly commented on Dave chords, have any or all these talents... can any of you write such songs? no... then stfu

  • sick muga some one else notices his flat picking and string muting while playing full riffs, Tim is great BUT dont take any credit away from Dave's guitar honestly in these concert tim is like a backup singer, dave came up with these riffs and strums soo i would say he is the guitar player...he is the damn show

  • You clearly haven't seen Reynolds play his own material then...I mean I agree, Dave is an amazing guitarist, and he is certainly the show here. But as far as technique and discipline goes, TR has Dave beat my friend. I love them both. But I've seen TR play his solo material live and it makes people's heads explode. This backup playing for Dave doesn't do TR justice...

  • dave is a different kinda guitarist so i wouldn't say one is better they're too different

  • Crush1998 apparently has no idea how much Tim contributes to these songs. Tim's fills and improvision make these Dave and Tim songs so good. Its not like Tim plays the same thing as Dave. Do you even play guitar?

  • kriswhat is exactly right Dave and Tim songs are phenomenal. Tim makes up for the rest of the band not being there by just playing guitar

  • play what he plays and sing glory over it. then say its easy. retards

  • dave is a complex guitarist for sure but i hate to break it to you, his chords arent that hard. youre putting the pussy on the pedestal haha.

actually the difficulty with dave is his rhythm and being able to sing simultaneously with it

  • sweet creamy butta!

  • I hate when people dont give rythm guitarists any credit. Dave is amazing. His music is hard. I have only been playing for 3 years but my teacher even says he is complicated. Dave Matthews ftw.

  • oh yeah and p.s. to riotact, tripping billies is easy, a more difficuly example would have been the stone. i thinks thats dave hardest song. look at the tablature, and watch him play it.

  • i hate to break it to ya,but i play guitar and dave DOES feature alot of simple chords in his music. his lyrics i think are what makes him so classic, dont get me wrong, the music is great too. but i feel for those who think they need to defend matthews with every ounce of their soul on here. cause there's clearly a few of you hahahaha

  • does it really matter? theyre both amazing musicians who make amazing music, some can appreciate it and some can't...too bad for the ones who can't

  • They are simple chords. Dave just plays them like a freak.

  • hell yeah muga69 hell yeahh

  • @ hearmeROOR: now that just pisses me off, but also makes me kinda sad. I feel for you, man. Get some help, fast! The rest of my post is basically what TheRiotActTK said, so I won't say it again.

"dave doesnt have any musical talent"... o.O *just walks away shaking head*

  • HAHAHA! You don't play guitar, do you? "Simple chords". HA! Whether people like him or not, Dave is widely respected for being one of the most innovative and purely talented rhythm guitarists around. Go play Tripping Billies and get back to me.

  • simple chords??? please do not comment on things you know nothing about. if you were a musician, which you are not, you would shut your mouth and appreciate one of the best rythmn guitarist on the face of the earth.

  • best was in mansfield mass...great show best finale

  • not so fast kemiplz, recognized and loved by a good few, but always will be underrated no matter how big they get or are ...

  • Seen this in new Hampshire a few years back, Probably the best shower i will ever C! AMAZING!!!!

  • They both are musical geniuses that aren't reconized at all.

  • not quite , both recognized by many

  • the whole live with dave and tim is incredible. lost acoustics is beyond anything ive heard. dave matthews puts more heart into his music than damn near anyone ive seen and he and the band are one of my favorites. cant really describe just how good it is

  • magic happens when those two pick up guitars together

  • if you like dmb, check out my band on my favorites.....weve got that acoustic / blues vibe goin....like your sittin by a camp fire with the djembe, guitars.....reefer!

  • Very good ending!

    Two quitarmasters

  • this was at the prism coffee house right?

  • booooo this isnt even GOOD its what is that ... HORRIBLE!!! YOU STINK!!!

  • wtf

  • the best song by dave and tim is tiny thing

  • Timmmy and DAVE Noone can rip on GUitar like these guys seen THem in Burlington VT. DAVE & Timmmy NUTTY!!!

  • no...dave and tim are the men....i hate how some ppl dont give tim credit...the dave and tim concert shirts didnt even say dave and tim on them...just dave matthews.

  • Everybody knows deep down in their hearts that Tim is amazing but they cant except it. We just half to leave the musical analysis to the more enlightened peole such as ourselves.

  • exactly

  • Can't wait to see dave and timmy at University of Mass!!!!

  • dave is fuckin ridiculous

  • Dave's the man

  • i saw them there :)

  • amazing

  • yeah i noticed that, his face contorts quite a bit. But thats how he always sings usually. Like if you've ever watched his vh1 storytellers he talks about how he looks like hes constipated when he sings, its cool that he can poke fun at himself.

  • sweet. it always strikes me that it seems to be physically painful for dave when he goes for those high notes. what a giver.

  • "Pocket Timmy! The portable guitar phenomenon!" LOLL

  • I cant believe how small timmy is. you could put him in your pocket.

  • this song is absolutely amazing...dave and tim are unbeleivable together. I just wished they played more often

  • Bustin out the signature DM Martin guitar.

  • simply the best dave song ever in my opinion. never get tired of hearing it, or singing it and playing it. and that yelling part at the end is awesome, wish he'd do that more often.

  • all i can say is " i wish i were there"

  • You don't say?! Well that's awesome! IS there anyway to find these available for download somewhere?

  • What DVD is this from sweetie?

  • This is just made from someone in the audience. Dave along with Tim allow filming and audio taping of their shows. Thats actually the main reason on how dave and the band become popular in the early days.
