  • Earliest? Try Moroder/ Summer I feel Love, 1977.

  • paesguud THANK YOU!

  • i hear this song and think: what a good song

when i go to see NIN version, people are saying that NIN is better when you need to give full respect to who made the original. you guys think?

  • fucking love marc almonds voice

  • Where your attention is directed, your Energy there flows

  • It is all a VOmit out there. Respect to all the pioneers and respect to all the postmodern kids who know music history. One of the best tracks ever. I collect, I reject..

  • @ricardo81262

los 80s no fueron buenos.... fueron EXCELENTES

  • I like Nine Inch Nails version better, but thats probably because I'm more of a industrial rock person. But a while back I would have without a doubt liked this song alot.

  • Sup douchebags, I'm a NIN fan and I like Soft Cell. Your pointless bickering over which band is better merely reflects your own pigheaded inability to recognize the existence of other music. Please stop ruining good music with your shit-throwing antics. You look like a bunch of monkeys with clothes on.

  • @Paesguud very well said, guy.

  • @Paesguud if you think about it, everybody is a monkey with clothes on. just saying.

  • @Paesguud Irony is ironic...

  • @nazaxprime Cheesecake is cheesecake.

  • @Paesguud Touche.

  • they had this in Worried About the Boy film!

  • Nine Inch Nails are shit. Soft Cell are good. Discussion closed.

  • @acousticmanland Stop talking shit about the godly stuff like NIN and go blow off some steam by buttplugging your douchy self, both anally and orally.

  • @KatD80 NIN's version sounds like it's being played through a speaker clogged up with turds. So yeah, it must be pure genius i guess.

  • @acousticmanland You're missing the important point here. Stop spewing negative subjective bullshit about legendary bands such as NIN. Besides, you know approximately one fat shit about the industrial music genre so quit criticizing. If you feel the urge to compare, pick something you're more knowledgeable about and have an easier time processing, like Cyrus and acoustic Bieber.

  • @KatD80 Cyrus and Beiber don't make me puke. If you want to talk industrial Throbbing Gristle.

  • @acousticmanland You are a true poet.

  • this song was in "worried about the boy" :)

  • I have the Cindy Ecstasy version if anyone wants me to upload it?

  • @J20M07 Upload it! NOW! :)

  • @GoldPain Hey! I did upload it, but it was blocked in just about every country on the planet! I think YouTube has some copyright protection stuff and I'm not sure how to get around it?

  • @J20M07 I dont think there is any way around it unfortuntely.

  • @Alexm799 Ah, gutted! I could always send it to you in an e-mail if you wanted, and then you could upload it? Cos you seem to have been successful with this one and the others haha

  • @J20M07 they do have a program that you copy and past the url to the song (on youtube) and download it for free

  • i LOVE Trent's version but quite honestly being that i absolutely love stuff like gary numan, joy division etc. i actually like the clarity and tone of the vocal here better, however trents overall production is FAR SUPERIOR

  • there are some real plebs out there

  • @hehfilms nooooooo not ALWAYS

    case and point: tainted love

you're gonna tell me Gloria Jones's version was better than Soft Cell's?

  • nine inch nails version beats this version 100 times...

still a lot of respect for spft cell

  • Great musical creation. Anyone suggestions for a remix?

  • Trent would never say his version owned this, he obviously had a lot of respect for Marc Almond to even cover his song.

They are both good, and Im sure both artists are happy that the other enjoyed their music enough to have this collaboration.

People who feel the need to compare which is better or claiming people are ripping other people off are missing the whole point entirely. I wonder if they even listen to the songs.

  • Hmmm... I like this... but I like Trent's better...

  • NIN's version totally OWNS this...

  • I don't know why everyone hates on Trent's version. It's an homage. Plus it's just a great version. He makes it his own..

  • I dont hate it, but NIN seem like little more than a 2000's cover band.

  • @cullyvan Are you serious? None of NIN's albums have even included a cover song. The closest is the Broken EP which originally came with a separate 'bonus' disc of two cover songs (so not really part of the EP). However, the songs are now published on the same disc as 'secret' songs that play after a long gap of silence at the end of the EP.

The small hand full of other covers they have done were always released as B-sides on singles, remix albums, anniversary editions, or only played live.

  • well i haven't heard NIN's version but i still think i'd prefer this one,i certainly don't think it's lame,but whatevans:D

  • @Alexm799 (I know this comment is a year old) Well, NIN generally has a way of making covers of songs his very own, like Metal by Gary Numan and Dead Souls by Joy Division to me anyways.

  • @Alexm799 I wouldn't be so sure. Trent Reznor is an amazing producer.

  • Oh Fuckoff. Production was not what it is now back then. Appreciate it for what it is. Nine Inch Nails seem to rip off everything from the early eighties , just adding heavy guitar. They are doing nothing original. This is original.

  • Like Trent really adds much "guitar" to his music in general. Listening to NIN's version of THIS song, there isnt even any guitar period. [fail] I dont know about how he would rip off everything from the 80s. Just this song and "Dead Souls" by Soul Division? Two songs, tops, sure doesnt seem like everything from the 80s.

  • and gary numan metal. im sure theres more.

  • Looking back from today, Im pretty sure everyone now a days rips off Trents work, rather than him ripping off someone else. Thats why he is who he is, look up "original" in the dictionary, youll see Trents face right next to it.

  • quite possibly . There was a band about 30 years ago called Pop will eat itself. At the end of the day its just pop music.

  • @AnnoNihilus The original is always better buddy

  • @AnnoNihilus NIN are just metal for pretentious pop-haters who can't bear to admit they like mainstream metal so hide behind the industrial moniker. I just listened to their version and it's typical of the 90s so-called industrial habit of distorting everything so much so people can't hear how tame their programming and sounds really are. Only lame industrial metalheads will remember that version. Only reason anyone would prefer NIN over Soft Cell is if their brain is a taste-free zone.

  • @chrisnoaro1 >nin >metal Wtf? I think that "metal for pretentious pop-haters" would fit Slipknot better... but let´s keep Slipknot out of a Soft Cell shoutbox.

  • @chrisnoaro1 I don't feel like a pretentious pop-hater, but I kind of agree with you. I like both versions, each one of them represents its era. I personally don't like eighties very much, I find the music funny (that's probably because I didn't experience this era) :)

  • @chrisnoaro1 Trent Reznor having 'tame programming' skills is the funniest shit I've heard in a long time, thanks for the laugh.

  • I went years ago and it was brilliant, absolutely jumping but this time it was alot quieter was gutted alot of the old haunts i frequented last time were closed like a lot of places i suppose, still good though, needed to book into rehab on my return lol

  • Just back from Torremolinos and thought of this song whilst i was there. classic tune.

  • never been to torremolinos, what was it like? any good?

  • I have this on original 12" White Label.......I wonder how much its worth!

  • torremolinos lol,

  • Its good to find the orginal
