Recesssion, People protesting because they are seeing the cost of fuel. Cost of fuel and Iraq.

if you're saying san diego culture has a habit of actually speaking up and going out in the streets to protest because they care about something - i say that's awesome.

You have a point, but it becomes one of informed protest. Is it done with knowledge of the world situation or one of local culture.
