The cops have used provocateurs in Canada, U.S., and England during G8 and G20 summits as well as other public civil protests. What makes anyone think that they didn't do it here? There needs to be a full PUBLIC independent review of the events of this weekend. Cops are not above the law.

Smashing windows of large corporations is more of a symbolic thing against capitalism. They usually don't target small business unless they do something unethical. Trashing police cars and other government symbols shows that their authority can be taken away from them.

I am a peaceful tax paper and this behavior is unacceptable. You cannot threaten people/organizations with violence and expect them to listen to your cause. Peaceful protesters need to distance themselves from the violence if there is any hope to be heard.

@TheFelixxRevolution you're absolutely wrong. I live in the heart of downtown Toronto, and trust me, it was the violent protesters, anarchists, black block etc. that chose to damage our beautiful city. The cops were there to insue some sort of order, though it was merely imposible.
What I do not agree with was the massive arrests that took place. They decided to follow the statement "better safe than sorry" but hundreds of innocent people were detained for 32 hours, including my neighbour!

I don't know if I'm completely sold on this theory, but I think it's a definite possibility. At the very least the police didn't do anything to stop them as they went on their hour and a half riot through apparently 24 blocks. There are video's on Youtube of police watching the Black Bloc doing this stuff and not doing anything to stop it. How convenient..this makes everyone look bad and gives them an excuse to mass arrest innocent peaceful passive protesters / citizens.
