I have been to both Rhodes and crete. crete wins hands down . There is so much to see in crete. From stunning beaches (Elafonisi, falasarna). To stunning towns. (reythnmnon, chania.). As well as stunning small villages everywhere. Its not totally tourist orientated either. And its much better for this. whatever your kind of holiday crete has it all. just booked another 3 weeks near chania area cant wait to sit there again ..
My Great Uncle was there. . .except he wasn't relaxing, he was on the fighting front,when it was invaded, and he says it was one of the most beautifel places until fritz came, but I agree it is beautiful places and I hope to come here one day =)
OK, Crete is my favorite place in the whole world, but having lived there for a year, I have to say that I think this video missed the mark in a lot of ways. Knossos and luxury spas are part of the "real, unspoilt" Crete?? I don't think so. I realize that they only had a short time period to highlight what they could, but I think they would have done better to skim over the touristy crap and highlight more of what makes Crete unique and truly "unspoilt". Just my 2 cents.
@mkkdash1 ur right mate..me and the mrs love the place. Only been coupla times and we love the gorges and mountain walks. Imbros is beautiful..better than Samaria,which we enjoyed twice.Stay in Hania..thats my tip..work from there...
