If you know anything about cars you know that the speed governing is not for keeping people from breaking the law, its there because of drivetrain reasons. They have structual limits. Before you remove a limiter make sure you know what needs to be done

i think your car reached top speed, not that it was spped governed. ive heard the 6th gear is only there for fuel economy, it won't actually make your car go any faster then what it can do in 5th gear.

A Hondata flash pro allows you to set the ECU to different settings. With it you can remove the governor, its not my objective as you hardly ever go over 133 MPH (211 KPH). What I really want to do with it is... lower my V-tech to 4500 rpm's and get themost out of my mods (A cars ECU thinks only certain amount of air flow into the engine is possinle because it doesnt know the limitations of the new intake & exhaust). My car sounds just like the one in the vid with only the K&N typhoon SRI

Oh and by the way, to those that think they started limiting the SI in 09, not true. My 07 SI also does not engage the V-tech on 6th gear. I tried it and I hit about 133 MPH (Florida) on 5th gear and when I shifted to 6th no V-tech to my surprise

I have an 07 SI sedan with a K&N SRI and have been thinking about my next mods which I think will be the magnaflow catback and then the Hondata flash pro. I was wondering how the K&N SRI and the magnaflow work together?? Did you notice any improvement from the stock exhaust to the magnaflow? Also if anyone has the K&N SRI, Magnaflow catback & the Hondata flash pro, I would love to hear from you.

That sucks, you just spent about $5,000 (American, not Canadian) for 10 kph of top speed, not including the mods. I have a stock 2009 Civic (The normal kind, not the Si) and I can get to 201 kph (125 mph).  I thought that the Si could hit at least 140 mph, now I'm really glad I didn't buy one.

yes the car can reach 220+ but i can only do that in 5th because the minute i shift into 6th, the best i can get out of her is 213. and that IS with my foot to the floor. but i'd sure like to compare cars beccause i'll just have mine declared a lemon if after all my mods a stock SI will beat me. however i've raced about 8 SI's all ranging from 2006-2008, they were all stock and i had about 3\4 of a car length on them and that was only at 120. but you never know.

I dont think you have a lemon bro. My 09 tops out around 215 on 5th, with flashpro tops out around 230 given the 8600 rpm. With the Flashpro you can set speed limit unrealistically as high as you want lol, but the Si's 6th gear is a cruising gear from the TSX, it wont cut it, i'm planning to change my 6th gear is I want to hit 300km lol.

@tommycirrus Apparently they started limiting the Si in 09, so that's why the stock 06-08's will beat you top speed.. I'm not 100% sure about this, but that's what I've heard. Either way nice vid man. Good quality and it shows the acceleration in Km/h!! Which is what I wanted to see :)

@TheCivicz it depends bro. there are lot of factors that can affect your top speed like wind drag, road condition, and weight of the car. but usually it is governed at 215kph. i've tried mine before when i was going at work and i'm too late and i did go up to 215kph. but now that i have hondata flashpro. i change the speed limit from 217 to 280kph and surprisingly i did go up to 248kph and i think it can still go faster. i just got scared and lift off my foot on the gas pedal.

There was 2 versions. Initially KN came out with V1 SRI but it had some sort of design flaw in terms of proper fitment and rubbing. So they came out with V2 in 08 I believe. Judging by the age year of your car i would assume you have V2. Either way it sounds awesome.

oh yes i heard about that. no mine is the one wich was revised they added a bracket to secure the pipe to one of the mounting spots for the original air box.

however i must warn the cone filter does fall off if you install it in the summer because of shrinkage during the winter so reef the crap out of the hose clamp i didnt and it fell off and your car will feel like it's ideling wrong, because it's running too lean. but on the plus side the vtec hits much harder, and pulls harder :)

unfortunately the ones here in canada appearantly have a govenor so i doubt a stock si would go 146mph with the stck settings. because on the vid i had my foot to the floor and it just hung at 211mk/h (132mph), and i've gone back to the dealership and tryed two other si's and they all did that one went a bit more the other a bit less depends on the road fuel level and a bunch of stuff, but all in all they both did what mine did. but i'll fix that soon and with no limiter we'll see what happens?
