You play as a young, blonde boy who has to leave his farm to stop an evil army taking over the world, he travels with a thief/smuggler a princess and a big hairy animal. The boy has psychic abilities. They fight many enemy troopers and destroy the enemies large weapon. The boy finds that the evil masked man his close family member, who also has powerful psychic abilities.

If Nintendo really wanted to recapture the 'hardcore' crowd with the Stream/Cafe/Wii2, they need to do an EarthBound/Mother Collection with all the games in English. And though they look slightly alike, mainly due to color palette and resolution, as the spritework really doesn't look that similar, Mother 3 and Pokemon are very different games.

I'm so happy that this Fan Translation came out. I bought Mother 3 off Ebay and have been just guessing my way through it, in tell I totaly just gave up and stoped playing. Now I can play the game and actually know whats going on! I have been a fan of Earthbound since I beat the first one! One thing I find funny about Mother 3 is how everyone acts when the mother dies, it's like I got good news and bad news. I found this great weapon, but it was in you're wifes heart. Yes. When you patch a MOTHER 3 Japanese rom, the file is just the same as any other non-patched GBA rom, so if you knew how, you could put it on a GBA cart.
