But you'd think that Gaav would be a bit smarter too. He lets Xellos get away twice under the exact same circumstances (Kicks the crap out of him, asks what Hellmaster's plans are, Xellos responds with "They're a secret." and teleports away.).

Xellos probably pretends to be weak when he faces Gaav to fulfill his duty to Hellmaster. He's almost as powerful as Gaav. Maybe it's because Gaav gained more strength, I'm not sure.

However, Seigram's power is clearly exaggerated. He got power from Gaav, if he didn't, Xellos would have totally raped low-ranking monsters like him in the blink of an eye.

Actually Xellos had a reason to pretend to be weak. He couldn't fight off Gaav, as it would ruin Hellmaster's plan. After Lina has learned complete Giga slave, Gaav was supposed to attack her and force her to use the spell in attempt to destroy him (Giga slave is the only spell enough powerful to kill demon lord). Then Hellmaster could kill Lina, letting chaotic spell destroy the world.

I don't think he's AS powerful as Gaav. I only said he had good reason to pretend to be weak. Although he was NEARLY as powerful as Gaav (or maybe Gaav since Koma-war was far more powered up by being locked in human form?), but not enough powerful to beat him in 1 on 1 fight. Yet I think he was able to significantly hurt Gaav if he could use his full power, but he was probably forbidden to do so, since injured Gaav might not be so self-confident to chase Lina.
