@sleepingincognito coz he sings 'shackin' up is all you wanna do'...implying that stevie was sleeping around....when she first heard the lyrics she quite rightly went nuts! i guess hearing him sing that over and over got to her....
He doesnt sing the wrong line. Miss Stevie sets him up, you can see her organise it with Christine, she gives her the nod and they both sing the line that Lindsey is meant to sing!
At around 2.39 I think Lindsey sings the wrong thing. He sings, "You can go your own way," but the rest of the band is singing, "You can call it another lonely day." He changes half way through and Stevie Nicks smiles.
My father is a tuba playing retired music teacher and i remember him telling me that Stevie Nicks was his dream girl, she was it for him and now that i'm grown I see why
Man i love this song, it has everything, great guitar playing, great singing, great lyrics, great drumming and of course f*****g amazing bass playing.
@Punk1984Rock I always say John McVie is one of the best but most underrated Bass players. Everything he plays is so tight and fits the songs so perfectly.
Rubbish, they'd been working on the album for over a year, they would/should never perform an incomplete song escpecialy leaving out arguably one of the best Rock Lead breaks of all time.
Quite frankly it just showed how much they'd tarted it up in the studio and that is why like the Eagles they have umpteen session guys on stage these days.
@62Bassman This is from the Old Grey Whistle Test, in which case their performance would have almost certainly been timed. That would necessitate chopping and changing, hence why the last chorus is extended.
@TheBassman62 But if they refused to do things the way the show requested then surely they might just have not been allowed to play, which means lost publicity, which means less views? I don't know, I'm just sayin'.... They're no less brilliant just because they played by the rules occasionally... I don't know how the 70s worked, but I do know that most bands will do anything they can to be on TV and/or create a bigger fan base. But fair play to your opinion, everyone is entitled :)
@62Bassman this was shot before they worked out the song. also missing is the acoustic guitar part. both the electric guitar ending and the acoustic part were worked into the song during the creative process in the studio. it does sound odd without the electric guitar solo in the end, but i kind of like hearing this rough early take on the song.
this is the case where lindsey just kept getting hotter, especially in the 80s while stevie just kept looking matronly as the years passed ;) man, when lindsey shaved off all that beard and got a proper haircut, we could see that gorgeous face underneath all that hair!!!
@lilymacsification not sure which album/s but their 80s videos such as those for "Big Love" and "Lies" showcase the hot, clean-shaven, clean-cut lindsey ^_^
@zilam98 Personally i think Lindsay looked way cooler with the white afro and beard here. When he cleaned up in the early 80's he looked like a preppy and not a rocker. Way to clean cut for rock.

@tombaker1222 Rubbish! No band at the top would go on a show and be be told how to play and what to play, this isn't top of the pops.
You wouldn't get away with telling the Eagles not to play the solo in Hotel California, The Mac were just as big at the time.
