It's the song titled Beethoven from the Beethoven's Last Night album / story. Sucks it had to end so soon -- oh wait, I have Youtube, I'll just find a full version of it! :-)
I've worked on the local crew for their show a couple times. They pull close to 2,000 amps when everything (mainly the lights) are at full. They've blacked out parts of cities before, not just arenas. That's why they travel with generators.

This was my first TSO show and that whole experience definitely enhanced it. It was hard to hear/participate in the sing-a-longs from where I was though :( Nevertheless, it was amazing!! Great vid thanks for posting!
The power did not get pulled intentionally. The show's generators (which they always run on) failed as our building's power failed. Every house light backstage and in the offices and suites went off as the music went off. I'm not sure what happened specifically but that's what happened in a nutshell.
Certainly not the worst TSO mishap. The west tour was playing Dallas in 04 when the fire alarm went off in the relatively new American Airlines Center. It was the cello intro to Sarayevo and all 20,000 people had to be evacuated into the cold night air immediately. There were alarms and flashing lights and I kept thinking, "Wow! They really beefed up the effects!" But no. Everyone had to leave the arena then return for the rest of an awesome show. TSO can't be stopped.
I was 16th row for this show and have been waiting for a clip of this. As the members were once in Savatage *I wore my Edge of thorns tour shirt to the show* when it got really quiet my wife dared me to scream "SAVATAGE!!!" So I did which caused the band to laugh and point at us. This and was an amazing afternoon show! Cannot wait till next years show! Singing Rudolph & Jingle bells with them was the best! OH Yea and the guy who screamed FREEBIRD!!! LOL - greatest show I have ever been to!
What happened was a multi-stepped event. First, the transformer that the audio system was connected to failed (ie. exploded). In an act of overcompensation the house employees killed all the power (bad bad idea). There was a slight delay as they switched over to generator power (TSO brings two of them with them), and after a systems reset, finished out the concert. The uncontrolled power-down by the house is what caused the lighting anomalies that plagued the remainder of the show. It was fun.
So how much power do they use during their shows (when you factor in the audio and lighting). Always wondered if they had to use a generator(s) cause of all the lighting.
My uncle's on their audio crew, and he told me about this. Called me up to tell me today. He said an audio breaker just arced and caused all audio to cease. That was it. he said lights were okay. The lasers were off because they had to get warmed up.
Dude I was there, and then the cinci orchestra people started doin their thing. It sucked though because the only dude who could really play w/o power didn't, no drum solo!
These guys are so awesome NOTHING can fluster them. They are simply the best--we were at the evening show and people were talking about loss of power for just a while. The show was jaw-dropping regardless. The evening performance was unbelievable. TSO has some personality too--seem like "a nice bunch of young men" as my grandmother would say. She wouldn't have understood they also are the best musicians I've seen anyplace--from Les Mis to metal. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them.
With the amount of shows that these guys put on, it's inevitable that SOMETHING is bound to go wrong eventually...but just like Pitrelli shattering his knee and still doing the show, their professionalism is EXTRAORDINARY! We appreciate you guys! ROCK ON TSO!!
I was there and we all started to sing Rudolph the red nosed reindeer. It was actually fun. Then the TSO started to play some classical music and the lights came on
