How to throw / make a simple clay pottery cylinder on the wheel

I am in my 2nd week of pottery class and dammit...EVERYTHING turns into a damn BOWL! LOL...Just looking for different techniques to make a cylinder....it always looks easier then done. Practice, practice, practice ugghhh lol. Its so much fun though :)

@LooseStringsRfun Only really need to do a knuckle lift on bigger stuff.

Just using your fingers is fine for things as small as this.
