You get used to Uncle Albert but Granddad is so perfect, the script writing and the way Lennard Pearce plays him. How could another character ever fill his shoes? The granddad episodes really are a treat to watch.

was he fuck! grandad was way funnier dont get me wrong old buster was ace but it was always the same story ( duuurriinngg the waar) and then wot was it "o aye "(duurringg the war) dont misunderstand me i love old folk especially those who gave theire lives for us in battle, ill blame the way the script was written!!!!! although what a 24 carat diamond those who gave us it were! what is there now totally FUCK ALL BUT 24 CARAT TRIPE AND REPEATS....

@N3LGG They're both so good I find it hard to say which one is best. I like the fact that Grandad is really a bit dim and slow most of the time, but can sometimes show razor-sharp wit when you don't expect it. Albert's during the war thing is more predictable, but gets a lot better with time.
