they changed catherine bc she really didn't agree with doing the movies one after the other and they changed chris bc he can't be in post production and direct eclipse at the same time....
The reason they changed The twilight one was because Catherine wasnt that good at it! i love her casting choices but she wasnt that good at the actual movie, the other reason was because she didnt agree with the time limit Summit gave her to complete the movie, so they hired Chris weitz for New Moon. They changed the directer for Eclipse because if you have read the book you will know there is a couple vampire fights and this directer is very familiar with them so he was there choice.
@xsoftball621x they have to change coz twilight was taken as a romance in the first but the director couldnt show the dark part in it. then, new moon changed hands, bcoz it was a mixture of tragic romance and bit of action....the action part wasnt handled by the director so now, to show the darker side and expose the novel a bit more...the movie has been given to an experienced "dark" director....
