  • All this,and Jesus

  • I know what you mean about it being bad. I've just been thinking about a family member who died recently and came here for comfort. I got this which, despite my sadness, made me chuckle, especially the common about the tenor. God bless that choir for putting a smile back on my face and thank you.

  • I love this song it is so touching to the heart.

  • Stunning x

  • Beautiful song, and I also live in Hull, and so can say that it is also a beautiful bridge.

  • I first heard this played on the steel drum by the top tenor master panner from the Pan Am North Star Jets while watching the sunset on Montserrat in 1981. We became fast friends and later that year played a concert that raised money to buy all the school books that year. His name is Jackie Dangler and he played on Jimmie Buffett's "Vulcano" album. I would like to find him now as he is very holy man who brought great blessings to my life. I believe he is in New York. God bless you, Jackie.

  • This Hymn is wonderful and only serves to strengthen my belief and faith - thank you

  • a Wonderful hymn bought tears to my eyes was played at my grand fathers funeral and being ex army our local army base heard of this and gave him a funeral with full military honours and i very proudly carried his medals behind his coffin thank you for this wonderful hymn

  • The song is beautiful as an Anglican it is nice music.

  • Very peaceful to listen to thanks for the blessing.

  • sung at my great grandmother's funeral today. I had never realised how beautiful the words were before. wonderful.

  • I lovee this songg xx

  • After 35 years it still makes me cry - bloody pathetic - should get a grip

  • lovely hymn, poor singing

  • The singing might not be up to your standards, but the real shame is that the choir is probably old and the tradition has not been passed down to the young, and that is the true shame.

God bless these oldsters for trying o keep the flame alive.

  • Thank your - so beautiful . Lance †

  • Habe dieses Lied letzte Woche in einer Rorate-Messe in Niedernturdorf gehört und bin so begeistert. Wir werden es in unserem Hauskreis singen.

  • great hymn to thank the Lord when you sit back every night to appreciate God's mercy, kindness & protection. God bless you, TVNORTH. ever since i knew this hymn in the early 80s, i thank God for the hymn.

  • So sorry, I meant to give you a thumbs up for your comment and clicked the wrong thumb :( My apologies

  • @gbolagun beautiful

  • Beautiful Hymn, too bad one of the soprano's and tenors has wayy to much vibrato in their voices..

  • So much lovelier than modern hymns, as many older and traditional hymns are

  • We comit our lives and spirits into Your hands Oh Lord for safe keeping, night and day. Please be our God and keeper throught this life and the next. Amen.

    Beautiful hymn. Thanks for sharing.

Welldone and may God bless you. Amen†

  • Hymns like this leave a lot of the modern Choruses behind. Churches these days are singing less of these hymns in preference to choruses to attract younger folk to church but it is the great hymns that I would go to church for. What magnificent lyrics and harmonies in the old favourites. Sadly, they don't seem to write them as they used to.

  • If you have enjoyed this rendition. Then why not try listening to a Salvation Army Brass Band playing these beautiful Hymn Tunes for Sunset on Channel H15GWP. The same beautiful tune St:Clements. My favourite Hymn this.

  • Tnx for uploading ^^

    x x

  • ehm...different thn Roman Chatolic,song...anybody who Roman here, please upload the Roman song...

  • "I am thu Bread of Life......"

  • oh..thanks for reply..but i can`t remember what i`m saying or type

  • I don't know if it's different in other countries, but this is the version sang at Roman Catholic masses across the UK...

  • if one day i found the song from UK,can you tell me what the page?

  • what a brillant video and a beautiful rendition of the day tho gavest

i am a yorkshireman born and bred I worked on the building of the humber bridge (which incendently was the longest single span suspension bridge in the world at the time of its building)

and i chose the day tho gavest as the main hymn for my funeral

    how spooky is that?

oh ps excuse the spelling but the sentiments are real

  • where can i found the song What Thou Gavest?

Its Roman Chatolic song in church..

  • This song is in the Roman Catholic Hymn Book in Great Britain, but I don't know about other countries.

  • It is also in the Lutheran Book of Worship which is used in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, and also in the German Evangelisches Gesangbuch, which is used by the German Lutheran church. There actually they have a German and the English version. So it seems, this hymn is sung all over the world.

  • in Roman Catholic (in Malaysia) call Sing your praise to God..in Roman Catholic its called WHAT THOU GAVEST written by Ryan..page can be found on C.15

  • i have to sing a verse of this on my own at school

  • A much loved hymn and a very good video.

  • who is that tenor? he's all over the place!

  • It sounds fine to me. If tvnorth answers your question, what will you do? Tell the tenor off? POINTLESS COMMENT.

  • Thank you very much for this
