I think they should have kept the music of the Fallen version, but kept the second verse like this one...

the fallen version is too loud and too much is going on in the beginning.

this version is calmer and cooler, quite soothing in the beginning.

this version in my opinion brings out the wonderfully eerie lyrics, not the fallen and origin version. the origin version was quite alright, that was the first version i listened to and that was the song i looped on end to write quite a few of my short stories.

it rocks to have an overactive imagination.

I love this song so much, all the versions are awesome, especially the official one, and the ones with piano in them ... each version brings out the whole concept of escapism and dreaming in different ways ... it's just perfect.

Knowing the meaning, I understand the lyrics.

I know well what lies beyond my SLEEPING REFUGE.. I built my own world to escape.. Paper flowers candy clouds.. I linger in the doorway of alarm clocks screaming monsters calling my name {possibly reffering to the fear of monsters under the bed or in the closet] very good.

@Thehighschool8888 Actually shes reffering to an alarm clock ringing trying to bring her out of her dream paradise. When the song talks about monsters its reffering to the worlds problems and her real life. Which are her living nightmare. Which is why she builds her own perfect world in her dreams. how did they hurt her? coz the bassists John LeCompt, and the drummer is... i dunno. but how did they hurt her? but personally, Ben Moody is the guitarist i like more than Terrry. Ben Moody left half way during tour, didnt he???

@FallingXInXTheXDark This is pretty old news, I've forgotten most of it. It was Ben verbally and physically abusing her, (I think, don't hold me to that). She fired John a long while after but the reasons were never released, then Rocky quit because John was fired. And yes, Ben did leave during tour. I like Ben's style as much as I like Terry's. It's just different but they fit the feel of both albums.
