Lotus Elise SC Review - Kelley Blue Book's LA Adventure

$55,000 is actually quite expensive once you see one of these in real life. They are TINY, remind me of a power wheels version of a race car when you see one in real life. If you are taller than 5 '8 or weigh more than 170 lbs, this thing is a PAIN in the ass...I'm 5'11' and 180 lbs, and although was comfortable enough once i got in, the removable steering wheel is not an option, but a requirement.

The problem I have with the Lotus is that it has no 10 mph bumpers, no glove compartment, no arm rest, it's loud at speed (you can barely hear over the stereo) and the body is fiberglass and not carbon fiber.

@allah211 no, they just used a 4cyl to keep the weight town. they use the toyota sourced (kawaski built) motor because you dont need a lot of horsepower to make a car that lightweight fast. only 220 at the crank and its a low 13 second car

dont reccomend it. daily driving here in socal is OK but i think sitting in that traffic watching that temp gauge climb up would be a bit disheartening. this car is like a motorcycle. gets cooled by driving. i wouldnt take it into gridlock for 4 hours at a time.
