  • Wow How do you avoid not moving the hands?

  • how do you purl that way?????? Can you show us how to speed purl too? PLEASE

  • Wow!! I wanna be this fast one day ;) she makes me feel super slow!!

  • Haters gonna hate

  • At first I gaped, then I laughed when she wasn't looking :)

  • she makes me feel retarded haha

  • Hahah I love the noises/music in the background, it's in sync with her fingers.

  • Would there ever be a young person with this record??

  • SKILL

  • It would be easy if she forgot someones birthday. "Oh yes, yoir present. I be right back with it."

  • @pandagirl4561 LOL yea i left it in my closet hold on xDD

  • If you think that is fast, I started a sweater this morning and finished it two days ago!

  • @amjPeace You say that as if you were faster...lol

  • OMG she doesn't even look at the work !!!

  • Wait, 262 stitches in 3 minutes is 87 2/3 stitches per minutes. Miriam's record is 118 stitches per minute meaning that it would be 354 stitches in 3 minutes. So if what I said is true, how is Hazel the current record holder?

  • @PinkCircleO8

I think that it was that they competed head-to-head and Hazel beat her with 262 stitches... meaning I guess that either Miriam had a bad day, or she doesn't have the lasting speed of Hazel. Think of sprinting vs. long distance.

  • @PinkCircleO8 Also, keep in mind that when Miriam knitted for the world record, she knit one row, with no turns. The 2008 competition included turning the knitting. Think of running a race where you have to stop and reverse directions every 100 yards for 300 yards, vs. just running the first 100. So yes, Miriam holds the world record for fastest knitting, but the competition in 2008 included other variables and measured stamina as well as speed.

  • HOLY FLIP! i would love to watch her make a pair of socks

  • She has UBER MICRO

  • I wish I could be this fast. It would make my work be done before I'm bored with it.

  • Yes, Hazel holds the current World Record. The Guinness World record is held by Miriam Tegals (2006). Hazel Tindall beat her record in February 2008 in an International competition held in the USA.

  • does she really have the world record.

  • I'd love to see an over the shoulder view of that. Looks like she is a picker, I am too so a close up from over her shoulder would be awesome. And wow she is fast.

  • SPEEDHACKS

  • wooooow.

  • She reminds me my mother, she ussually see tennis or soccer matches on tv while knitting. She is very fast also, she often has to undo some knitting, because she just keep going on focused on the match, she ends with something like a sleeve too long! :D

  • Is she actually wearing a BELT for her needle to rest upon?? Wow. Serious.

  • wow lol her speed is increadible!!!!!!!!!

  • speed hack

  • I just started learning how to knit so my jaw just dropped that someone could even knit that fast and without any mistakes either.

  • OMG, I cant even type that fast, lol.

  • @SSparks555 Bwhahaa xD So true, so true x'D

  • Woo for English style knitters!

  • @MorsmordreMaiden shes scottish btw

  • Haha that's great, she wasn't even looking!

  • @AmberRoseEm It's actually easier when you don't look. Once you've got it down; it feels better to feel out your stitches than to scrutinise them with squinty eyes.

  • omg

  • hey i knit! except im not that fast....lol

  • My mother in law used to make a ski sweater in 3 days while watching tv over night. The whole family had so many knitted things!. I still have a lacy cardigan she made for me 30 years ago.

  • that's my mam!!! miriam didn't even shake her hand or nothin at the end!!!

  • Comment removed

  • For every sweater I make, she could make 20! Amazing!

  • woah woah

  • hey look at her belt...!! the needle stays on there still so she can knit fast.

  • nope im 13 and knit so there

  • hazels kewl

  • I didn't even know there were fastest knitter competitions out there. Oh well, people have to kill the time somehow.

  • holy mother of cows! that's really fast 0_0 she had time to look at the camera

  • amazing! and i knit at the speed of a turtle!

  • LOL me too.I wish I was half as fast as she is.

  • That's it Hazel v Miriam - BRING IT ON!

  • Does she put that music on to get pumped up?

  • lol, nah it was music at that place for the event i think.

like the music they put in fashion shows when models walk the runway

  • I'm one of the fastest in my community, knitting better than a stitch per second, but THAT'S UNREAL!!!!
