  • @mcgaheefamily According to Judy RVZ never listened to Rock and Roll while at home..All his listened to was Merle Haggard. RVZ owned every Merle Haggard album ever recorded up until his death, and yes in 1978 the plans were in place for RVZ to do a country album with Merle and Waylon Jennings...

  • @mrdon09 So what are ya Hillbilly or nigger? Because those two dont meet up in the south. I know I am from the south and when I was a boy there was colored town and our side. neither one went to the others. And I still prefer it that way.

  • @jmichaelallenk77203 when i went to florida it was still like that.

  • @mrdon09 FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUu!

  • A GREAT SONG RONNIE WAS PLANING TO DO A COUNTRY ALBUM

  • @mcgaheefamily I think this was just a song showing their country influences because all the interviews I've heard I never heard him say anything about a country album

  • Is this Ronnie singing?

  • @ep1970 That is Ronnie definitely.

  • @mreaganismyhero I believe this was unreleased up until Collectybles

  • no one can take your place, and we lost the best there ever was. What a band none better before them, and sure as hell no better after them meaning Ronnie Van Zant best frontman ever. • i don,t know i don,t play, my son does, he said maybe c-e-d. go to a record store, and see if they have a skynyrd music book, you would be shocked what you can fine, all the older music book.

  • 0 dislikes... No Shit

  • these guys could have made it in country to, how great. miss you ronnie, and all.

  • @TheTrigger900 They had 4 or 5 songs including this one that would have been great country songs

  • @Righty736 isn,t this song great , i play it everyday. there all great songs i still miss them. R.I. P.

  • do you maybe have the chords to this?

  • @Righty736 Once you get past Sweet Home Alabama and Freebird (the only skynyrd songs I've heard on the radio), the original band really had some depth to it.

  • @Righty736 they play other too..like gimme three steps, that smell, Tuesdays gone, don't ask me no questions, the ballad of curtis lowe, simple man...but i agree this band is soo much better then what people hear on the radio

  • I love this song, good to hear Skynyrd playin the style of classic country blues as well as rock n roll.

  • artimas holdin a gitar?love it

  • thank you for a song i i have not heard god bless Ronnie

  • this is awesome, never heard it before,a real beautiful song for sure. Can anyone help me here, I have been trying to find a song I believe Lynyrd Skynyrd may have done, not sure about this. the song has the words " Ain't no tea for my fever, ain't no potion for my pain" in it, and it sounds like a slow tempo blues styled song. I have no idea what the song's title is, but any help is welcome. thanks

  • @m3a41lt The song is most likely "No Potion for the Pain" by the Charlie Daniels Band. It was originally released on the "Full Moon" album but has also been included on some CDB's greatest hits CD's.

  • @WVFreebyrd Thank you for your help. now that I think about it {thanks to you"joggling"my memory} I had that album back in 1985, and misplaced it , some friend probably has it . Anyways thanks and I wish you the best!

  • Question???? After Gary (the LAST REBEL) goes. Will music ever be the same? And if it was'nt for for the SKYNYRD library, would music even be worth listenning?

  • When was this recorded?

  • Damn damn damnit all to hell--------WHY ON EARTH DO WE ALWAYS LOSE THE GREAT ONES??? I sure miss you guys!! No one can take your place Ronnie!!!--------Think I'll go for a drive.

  • i like it.

  • Gotta be one of my favorites by them.

  • This is classic Skynyrd. No doubt the best Souther Rock Band ever !! So many styles covered and always just down to earth. Glad I am 49 years old cause it aloud me to catch this music right from the start. Influenced mt guitar playing quite a bit. God bless L.S. !!!

  • It's official. They were the best band in the whole damn world. They could play rock, country and blues, all with aplomb. Makes me pround to be southern. Rip Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, Allen Collins, Leon Wilkeson and Billy Powell.

  • @SteveMcQueen1994 You said it bro. Greatest band ever. Even todays skynyrd cant be touched!

  • @SteveMcQueen1994 you forgot christian rock

  • Is that artimis on guitar?

  • @IxIFLASHxBANGIxI No. It looks like they're right in the middle of recording "I Never Dreamed", and I'll tell you why. Steve plays both an electric and an acoustic in that song, and the moment in which this picture was taken, Steve has a B flat chord formed, which comes around a lot in that song. Also, Steve only used his Les Paul in songs that he had a lot to do with. For example, "I Know a Little", which he wrote, "You Got That Right", which he co-wrote and sang lead with Ronnie in...

  • @IxIFLASHxBANGIxI "I Never Dreamed", which he also co-wrote, and "Ain't No Good Life", which he wrote. You can tell by his tone if he was using his Stratocaster or his Les Paul, and in those four songs he played his Les Paul.

  • Didni't know this song existed, and I am Blown away,,

  • is that Ronnie with the headphones on ? dang, to me he looks just like Johnny

  • I was helping a friend in vernon connecticut strip a 69 cougar in his parents yard and the announcement came over the radio about the plane crash, we stopped what we were doing and started pounding beers..

  • I remember buying a Skynyrd CD set and saying to myself,........ ''hmm, what's this song? Never heard this one before''---------when the song ended I was speechless, WOW!!

I'll never forget listening to KMET in Los Angeles on that October day of 77 and hearing the news.....

Catch one of those big bass for me Ronnie. .

  • one of the best songs ever!!! i love this side of skynyrd........

  • i made a comment ricky was not a orginal member. sorry . i love skynyrd . and again ricky im sorry.

  • he aint a original member he played 1 session on drum's @ the shoal's in florence. then he was gone. MF dickey medlocke. once a loser always a loser. good thing Spires could write all them blackffot song's or he would not have made it there either.

  • Comment removed

  • Hey lil kid. maybe you can get yer facts straight before you start runnin yer shotgun mouth with a lil b.b gun azz... Shorty Medlocke was not dickey's dad. He was his Grand Father. So what if he can play guitar.... he can write a good song to save his life. When a fan bring's a street servivor's album up and he sings his name right over Allen Collins picture on the cover. HE IS A BIG TIME LOSER!!!!! Jakson Spires ran him off from Blackfoot. the greedy gary tribute band.. peace

  • Shorty was actually Rickey's Grand-dad, bud

he wrote Tran, Train......and i think he wrote "Rattlesnake Rock n Roller" too.

  • Comment removed

  • Kenny as i said before Shorty was Rickey's grand father... the following is cut and pasted from a medlocke web-site... Maybe you will learn to understood me and not try to be a brainiac with no brain... Shorty Medlocke

Shorty Medlock (19101982) was a blues musician and composer.

A descendant of the Blackfoot Confederacy, he is the grandfather of Blackfoot lead guitarist Rickey Medlocke... JUST THE FACT'S lil kiddo

    R.I.P Shorty

    y'all take care

  • @SheaBearden ot brave enough! PEACE!

  • Country-fried Skynyrd!! I like it!!

  • artimus is also a great piano player,,when skynyrd regrouped in 88 i was at the american music store on the westside of jax and artimus came in and was ordering something,,i started talkin to him and he was playing a keyboard they had set up...he is a great piano player,,,i was very suprised and impressed

  • Had never heard this one before but it has made my number 1 hit list very rapidly LOL LOL LOL LOL

  • Bob Burns was the ORIGINAL drummer..he TOOK A break and Medlocke was the drummer..Burns came back...Medlocke left to form BLACKFOOT..( Greg Walker recorded some earlier Stuff with Skynyrd..He played bass on ONE MORE TIME....

  • That was Stevie Gaines Black Les Paul and Leon Wilkinson could also play the most BadAssed 6 string slide guitar with an old zippo cigarette lighter you would ever dream of hearing. I used to sit at Tim Lindsey's music store and jam with him and Leon and I will never forget going fishing with Billy and Tim and partying at the JAX landing afterward. Everyone in this band has multiple talent and thats what makes their sound indelible in a world of mass produced shit! The real deal!!

  • my life in a nut shell...there is not a bad skynyrd song out there

  • @jkmzy amen brother ,amen

  • @jkmzy yes there is its called every lynyrd skynyrd song after the plane crash

  • @jkmzy there is. poison whiskey.

  • I was the original Drummer do your homewaork

  • rvz r.ip

  • RVZ IS THE BEST

  • Why is Artimis Pyle holding a guitar in this picture?

  • Pyle didnt just play drums, he played guitar also, although his major instrument was drums. Occasionaly in songs on the albums he did play the guitar...someone not knowing this probably dont know that Ricky Medlocke was one of the ORIGINAL members of the band

  • No, I know my Skynyrd well. I did not know Pyle ever played guitar because I never cared to find out. I enjoy hearing the old Skynyrd songs with Medlocke, such as "You Run Around".

  • great song!

  • Fenders are better than Gibsons in my opinion - I own a Stratocaster myself.

  • That was incredible! Loved the photo. Looks likes Pyle has Gaines' black Les Paul on his knee. They look like how they are on the Street Survivor pics. Who knows....maybe they're putting together some of those tunes here?

  • Great Video Thanks
