  • @zardiw She's a famous West Coast musician, still active in Europe. As you can see in the video, she's a Thigh Slapper.

  • @jack5505 I don't know the exact year, but maybe late 60s or early 70s.

  • Kenny Rodgers experimented with acid?

  • @wheelymeneely Back then the question was who didn't experiment with acid.? You didn't get busted for drugs in the 60-70s. This is indeed an acid song....

  • Darkness crept over The Dude

  • what a voice!! I understand Kenny didnt like this song but what does it matter if you have a voice like that!!

  • @afunk909 ,

Well this was a psycedelic (sorry for the typo) song, well if your most of the songs of Kenny Rodgers he was mainly Country Western and love songs-which I liked of his.Eventhough I am not a Country fan what so ever.

  • Great song but the video needs a Valkyrie

  • fully sick bro

  • Acid is some powerful stuff, y'all. I sure as hell will never do it again. I'll do mushrooms again, though. Got any?

  • The very same.

  • far out man

  • i know kenny was just cashing in on the whole flower power thing but what a song to do it with!best heard in some headphones quite loud i think

  • Actually, the sound of this track was more attributable to producer Mike Post (yes, the same Mike Post who later wrote many a TV show theme). Mr. Post was a protege of Warner/Reprise A&R producer Jimmy Bowen (under whose Amos Productions the record was produced) at the time.

  • Take it from one who remembers. This was no quick cash in. This was THE KENNY ROGERS OF THE DAY. He even did a weekly TV show on Canadian TV. The show, hokey as it sounds was called "Rollin' On The River" with Kenny Rogers and the First Edition. It was a few years after this that he started down the country road.

  • The First Edition was formed in 1967.

Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In) was a hit from their debut album in 1968.

Between 1967 and 1975, hits included:

Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town; Reuben James; But You Know I Love You; Something's Burning; Tell It All Brother; Heed the Call

First Edition was the first pop rock group to have a prime time variety show in the USA and Canada - Rollin ran from 1971 to 1973

Kenny's solo "Love Lifted Me" was released 1976
