I highly suggest you go there and give it a shot. I went there all by myself last year for a week before I went to London and it was fantastic. I made all my money that I needed for the pubs by playing music on the street.

Hi, i think his run ins with cops were in the Czech Rep not Ireland, in Ireland we have a healthy busking community. Gardai may arrest agressive beggars but not buskers, if you are collecting (soliciting) for cash for a charity you need a permit. You can be moved on from outside a premises if your crowd have blocked the entrance to a shop/road or if you are too loud. We value music, busking is how alot of people have become known in Ireland. Also i think musicians can get tax exemptions here. :)
