wow thank you so much for doing this clip my name is sonia and im from new zealand i have had a biopsy done on me to but i had never seen it been done was freaky to see but now i know what i went through it was like i had it done to me all over again thanx
I went through a renal biopsy just under two months ago. When I went in there were only four of us in the room (including me), my doctor certainly didn't make a point of showing off the huge biopsy needle and the need for intrevenous drips wasn't even thought of as it wasn't required. I'm also concerned how this patient was made to walk back to bed, as most hospitals require you to lay in bed straight after the procedure to stop bleeding from the biopsy site.
holy shitttt dude. well thanks a lot for making it look so horrible... this is probably the video my mom watched and now she's horrified :( she has nephrotic syndrome and needs a kidney biopsy as well.
I have FSGS and also been through a lot this year. Consider being a member of the Nephcure Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to finding an effective treatment and a cure for the disease. We need to stay strong and be as positive as we can to combat the disease and not let overcome us. Best of luck to everyone who has the Nephrotic Syndrome or FSGS.
I was diagnosed VIA Renal Biopsy with FSGS Nov, 2009. I was 5 months pregnant. Not many can understand what we go through. Boxes full of useless meds. Tons of doctor's who understand as little as we do. The constant pain, fatigue, edema, hair loss, & other never ending side effects. We're just waiting.... waiting for a cure, Waiting for an answer, waiting for some absolution that we'll probably never have.
@LyziB I'm really concerned about your long list of side effects. Of course we get fatigue - our kidneys aren't working properly, & most of us are on fluid restriction..but hair loss & pain?
Any oedema, that means the nephrotic syndr is active again, and it can be treated. There is a cocktail of meds for FSGS, and they tend to calm it right down. If you're not taking them, try different ones. Tacrolimus is one they favour in Europe; not cyclosporin anymore. This is liveable with. good luck!
