Uhh I think you're approach was off by like, A LOT! Normally when you land you shouldn't still be turning. And your right wheel hit the ground before the other two did. But you didn't crash so all in all not to shabby!
See in tower view and wingview your wing almost scraps the ground... yaa.... not good... but atleast u gave it a try, the approach is kinda hard, i tryed it in FS2004 with a 737 and wow it was hard.
Incorrect approach. I've flown a 737-800 to Kai Tak with correct guidance and I noticed your approach and glideslope was wrong. Also, your approach was bad as you almost landed on the displaced threshold; and your did not follow the Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) lights.
u get to control the planes in here? liek can u fly it as in press arrow keys or w/e to move it? and also how do u get the Cathay...eva...china..etc. plane brands to fly? thanks
whats a joystick? isn't this for pc? how do u get a joystick for it or sumthin...and also what u mean by "livery" airlines that u can get from plane model? and is this Flight Simulator X Acceleration or Gold Edition? sorry for askin so much but i really like this game
you can google joysticks..and joysticks are designed for PC, it's not a game pad...
this FSX with SP2, without acceleration. I really don't know how i can explain livery better...they are paint jobs of the plane. you will see what i mean when you actually got the game...
and some plane models like the one i'm using is payware, so they do not come with FSX itself.
SP2= server pack 2..you can download that from Microsoft official site
you can get it in any local electronic shop..like Best buy etc..
and yes you do have to buy joystick separate if you want to use it. You may play with keyboard and mouse if you wish, however it will be nearly impossible to fly the plane. Joystick is normally 30-60 dollars, 90 if you want a good one.
You should practice slow flight at higher altitudes first. In a C-172 reduce power to 1500 RPM. As the plane slows down, pitch the nose up to keep altitude and start adding flaps at 95 kts, 75 kts, 65kts. Once the stall warning sounds add power to 1800-200 RPMs. Trim the plane for that altitude and speed (you should hear the stall warning the whole time).
Practice turns (no more than 15 deg bank). Don't let te stall warning bother you.
There is one rule when landing planes, this rule makes pilots or breaks the wannabe pilots. When landing an you are near stall speed, the airspeed of the plane is controled by the pitch of the plane.
The rate of descent is controled by the throttle.
Follow VASI or PAPI lights to keep the glideslope. If U'r too high take out some power, if low add power. If fast pitch the nose up, if slow pitch the nose down.
You should practice this (called slow flight) on small planes first
i think it's closed because it cannot handle the growing air traffic, but i guess the landing is another reason lol. Now the new airport of Hong Kong is just a straight in approach.
i did, and actually a lot of them. You just can't see them in replay mode. You should also see the spoilers on the wing for turning going up and down a lot if you are not in replay mode...
it was okay it wasn't perfect i am extremely criticle 3 stars but it wasn't bad i know the approach is hard but you know you came in too fast but you didn't kill everyone nvm that 4*
yep indeed i came in at 150knots. Usually the landing speed for A330 is around 140ish. The only reason i increased my speed is i don't want to go into a stall when i'm doing that turn to line up the runway...Plus i don't know where the houses are at since i'm landing in 3D cockpit. So i want 2 have enough speed 2 pull up in time.
I should practice more on this approach b4 posting lol, but i just want everyone 2 see my first attempt. I might post another one when i mastered this approach :p
yea but you should allways try to mantain 1 g while turning so you don't loose speed but i know what you mean so i understand what you mean, but for a first attempthis is awesome! i now post my first attempt (if more all) on my vid's of full flights
What i do such as with my Cathay A340 is the pull up the nice a little and slow down a bit to decrease my turning radias, and it also makes the line-up easier. See my video up there.
The10diamonds land it by yourself . It's hard to land in that airport. By the way nice landing but not a good airport.

just some friendly recommendations:
1. A lot less flaps so you can flare at the end
2. Follow the flashing guiding lights for the approach.
Other than that, nice landing for your first landing there!

yes good landing i have reapited three times a landing like this and i crashed the three times.
In the second landing you was so close to crash with the wing before you make the first touchdown, but a great landing. X)

CurlyBlakey 2 years ago
Yup. Other names for it are:
Flight stick (Gaming).
Control Column (Boeing Aircraft)
Side Stick (Airbus Aircrafts).
That's right, Airbus aircrafts use 'joysticks' instead of normal control columns.
usafpilot29 2 years ago
not true the a310 and a300 uses control column but yeah most all of them used it
MusicLover11325 2 years ago
I'm talking about modern Airbuses. The A310's were amongst the first to be produced. A300 is the main aircraft part transporter.

that was actually pretty good for kai tak ive seen worse

I think that this is why Hong Kong moved the airport location and shut this airport down, because the approach is too hard:) but nice try^^
llaa66666 2 years ago
Hong Kong moved the airport because Kai Tak was having inceased traffic volume and had no more space to contain the inceasing traffic volume.
