  • The Les Paul is a heavy off-balanced guitar.

Pay attention to Sterling's bass. As he speaks the bass neck starts to dip even though he is constantly holding it under his arm pit.

I suppose not only les pauls are off balanced eh Sterling?

  • I watched this a while back, when it came online pretty much...

I enjoyed that country funk that Sterling Ball played, its different. It was cool to hear how Leo Fender shaped the tonal music industry. I'm sure fretting instruments also added to the brightness..

I would love to see them make a 6 sting ray, but what can you do...

  • I'm a Bongoloid as of 2 Wednesdays ago.

  • Music Man is amazing. I own a Steve Morse model. Amazing, amazing, amazing!

  • i own a sterling and a stringray fretless. Ive played alot of bass's over the years, but i always come back to musicman bass's. I grew up in the 70s and 80s, in that time music was very danced oriented..bernard edwards of chic played a stingray..heard him as a child and loved it.. I like the new direction's MM is taking. I want to check out the reflex bass, it seems to stick to what works and yet throws in a 4 band eq and a ton of options.. I wish i could work for them, id be proud of that!

  • Good to see you BP!

  • I wonder if the bass Sterling Ball is using is actually a Pre-Ernie Ball Stingray.. looks a bit like one of those vintage basses!

  • @DavidSinRocks might be using one of those new vintage reissues that they have out now.

  • Yeah Jen!!!!!!

  • GREAT Sterling!!!

  • My neighbor saw him 30 some years ago doing Creedence Clearwater covers in newport beach and said he was the best he had ever heard.

  • Sterling is the man! Great musicianship!

  • What colour bass is Sterling Ball playing. is it pink or Trans-white

  • are they going to reissue the 80's stingray? the bass he's playing looks new with the handtags

  • there not really reissue but "throwback" models

cool classic paintjobs and all but still has modern stuff like the compensated nut ..pretty cool idea

a blend of old and new

  • its always a good thing when the person who own the company can actually play the instruments he sells

  • lovely basses, i want the big al bass once i have the money

  • This vid features some great info and story telling by Sterling Ball. Enjoy!!!
