Capitalism equals freedom douchbags. Socialism allows the government to transfer wealth. People can still be very charitable in a capitalistic system. With strong unions being wealthy is an attainable goal for the little guy. Capitalism didn't fail, its just becoming obvious that US is a facist state, which is defined as government being privately owned ... which it basically is thanks to lobbying.

Well, we really only lived through the depression (which was caused by capitalism, make no mistake about it) was World War II. And now that our love of the free market has bitten us on the ass again, but during a time when no one in their right mind would institute a draft, we're kind of really, really fucked unless some big changes are made. I mean, shit, look at Europe; they've adopted far more socialist policy than us, and they have a way higher standard of living than us.
